(( Just Outside Conference Room 04-118, Deck 4, Deep Space 14 ))
Fletcher: The point is, it’s time for a change. Commander Rouiancet, your time is up. This is it. I’m afraid you’re going to have to give up your rank.
Kruwii: Effective immediately.
T’Valek: Is the pomp and circumstance really necessary.
Although T'Valek was Vulcan, he lacked interest in ceremonial formalities. He saw no point in prolonging something that could be done quickly and efficiently. Nevertheless, he acknowledged other species' desire for pomp and drama.
Captain/Rouiancet: Responses
Kruwii: I believe Commodore V’Airu personally insisted.
V'Airu: Indeed.
V'Airu: Please, continue. I am here to observe only.
T'Valek had served with V'Airu many years ago but never truly got to know the captain—a situation that remained unchanged. T'Valek had a knack for keeping to himself when necessary. He would spend ample time familiarizing himself with his crew and ship operations, yet you'd never find him setting a table for senior officers or having non-disciplinary one-on-ones with subordinates. Instead, he preferred to lead by example and maintain an air of mystery.
T’Valek: You’ve made a name for yourself in the Gamma quadrant Commander.
Captain/Fletcher/Rouiancet: Responses
Kruwii: Well, not quite. There’s a bit more… (looking to the others)
T’Valek: Indeed
T’Valek attempted not to look visibly annoyed at this waste of precious time, a skill he’d perfected over the years.
Captain/Fletcher/Rouiancet: Response
T’Valek: Well, Commander, can you tell us what your goals are for the future?
If you haven’t figured it out yet, there’s not subtly to T’Valek, something some admirals find refreshing, others find frustrating, but none the less he’s made his way to captain because of these unique personality traits.
Captain/Fletcher/Rouiancet: Response
