Capt. Brell - Dreaded event.

((OOC: This takes place on day 4 of shore leave))
((Sickbay, Deck 5, USS Atlantis))
::Brell stood in sickbay waiting. He did not really want to be here but as the commanding officer of Atlantis, he could not escape the physical exam he had ordered everyone to take. Still he wished he could simply take Captains proagtive and excuse himself from participation.::
oO Perhaps next round I could get away with but not this first time. Oo
::He had been keeping up a fitness routine since taking command of Atlantis; sparring the holographic, and fellow crew in the boxing ring, swimming laps on the holodeck, as well as free weight training. However he had not been sticking to his diet well, often allowing himself large portions, or snacks after having a sensible mid day meal that should have been enough. It was often during the times he was in his ready room buried in reports to read and file, that he indulged in snacks. The doors to sick bay slid open and in walked the current occupant of the CMO office, Dr Cattan.::
oO She could get Williams in the nagging, great! Oo
Cattan: Well hello Captain Brell, that's a surprise ::she smiles kindly:: what can I do for you?
Brell: Well, I am here for my physical. ::Seeing the bag over her shoulder.:: Were you just coming in?
Cattan: I'm about to start ::she smiles while they walk together to her office:: I had a free evening yesterday
Brell: Ah I hope it was nice, this planet has quite a few spots to offer.
Cattan: are you enjoying your shore leave?
Brell: So far yes, We took the twins down to the islands we access too for those few days. Hars accused me of beaming down half the ship worth of stuff to enhance the experience. And we ended up playing in the sand with kids for most of the time.
oO No need to mention the four sandwiches I ate or how much meat I put on them. Oo
Cattan: that sounds so lovely. I bet they must be glad that it's shore leave. ::she smiles:: now you have time to play with them
Brell: Indeed they, Linalu even seems to be less shy when I’m around for more than a few hours like on normal days.
Cattan: oh Linalu, did she grow much? and Renu how's he doing?
Brell: Growing quickly, they are turning three soon. You and Alex should stop by and visit while we all have a bit of extra free time.
Cattan: We should. I did promise Hars to cook some Egyptian food for him ::she laughs:: perhaps I can make some seafood too
Brell: Both sound good to me, I did not visit all of Earth’s continents when I was at the Academy there. So there's a lot of culture and food yet to be discovered.
Cattan: response
Brell: The kitchen in my quarters is yours then, as long as Hars does not have anything going on that night.
Cattan: response
oO Drat, if only Dinner plans were enough to get out of the reason I came in for. Oo
Brell: Yes let’s get to it.
::They left the CMO office and went over to a bio-bed. He hated these things as laying on them reminded him of his capture and torture at the hands of the consortium. At least these didn’t have restraints of any kind, if they did he did not know how he would react really. Just thinking of that horrible event made the task before him feel not so bad. Fear over a physical exam was rather trivial. Telling himself that might just help, as he got up on the biobed and readied himself to endure this exam.::

Brell: Yes on the Blackwell about three months before I took command of Atlantis. .. So a year ago.

::He knew the one who left the most notes on his medical file had been Dr. Cook on the USS Darwin. There he had been given multiple lectures about his eating habits, some of which he followed. He tried not to look nervous as Cattan went over him with her tricorder. She paused at his left arm were the scar was from a fight he had gotten into in his teen years then it could not be corrected by dermal regeneration, and now he would want to have it corrected as it served as a powerful reminder to do the right thing to him.::
