((Flashback))

((Davis Estate, Bogata, Colombia, Earth, 31 years ago))

R’Val: You are Romulan. Stop crying. Romulans don't cry. We get even. If the human children are causing you trouble, site them the results of troubling a Romulan. Give them a reason to fear you, since it is apparent they already do.

:: Serala sniffled one last time and dried up her tears. ::

Serala: Yes, Mother. But how? They are many, I am one.

R’Val: Use your innate gift of guile. It is okay if who you are. You are stronger, faster, smarter. Come up with a plan. Take your time. Revenge a dish best served cold. Remember that. It is an old Romulan proverb for a reason. It is true.

Serala: Yes, Mother.

R'Val: Let this lesson guide you through life. When the enemy is more numerous, it faster, or stronger, your guile will always help you prevail.

Serala: But I'm hurt, Mother. Will guile help me with my injuries.

R’Val: Do not be silly child. Guile cannot heal. Guile CAN help you find a way to heal yourself, or help you find a plan of success despite your injuries.

Serala: I will remember, Mother.

:: And Serala blacked out again
