Serala was considerably surprised to see Lieutenant Knight wearing a gold uniform. When he asked the Captain for a private conference, she was less surprised, considering he might need to explain his change of attire. When he exited the Captain’s Ready Room, trailing behind the Captain, and made his way to the Tactical station, she assumed he had for some reason been transferred to that department. Since she was no longer the Chief Tactical Officer, she wordlessly turned over the station to him and moved over to one of the empty stations at the MTD. She kept her ears to the conversation taking place regarding the devices found near the deflector dish, but that was no longer her direct concern, so she remained silent, although troubled by their presence. After the last two had been found, she had done a thorough sweep of the ship and had turned up nothing. To find them here now was, to say the least, disturbing. Still, she trusted her crewmates enough to let them handle the situation. It was going to take some getting used to not viewing things from a tactical or security standpoint.

Although the situation seemed to be getting dangerous for Captain Logan and the crewman in the workbee, Captain Thoran apparently decided it was something that Commander Williams could handle, and after all, the Valcarians would be expecting them to come down soon. Still, she was a bit surprised at his announcement as he rose from his chair and made his way to the turbolift.

Thoran: The first shuttle is due to depart to the surface soon and I need to show my face. First impressions and all that. Number One you have the bridge. Update me if the situation changes.

Williams: Response

Thoran: Miss Serala you’re with me.

Serala: Aye, sir.

She absentmindedly placed her hand on her growing child as she followed the Captain to the turbolift. It was a habit she had somehow picked up since that day in sickbay when Dr. Journs had shown her the image of her child growing within her. Her Little Bean.

oO Ssalli khiilal. Poor child. I wonder how you will react to the nickname our good doctor unwittingly gave you. Oo

As the doors to the lift closed behind them, the Captain tapped his badge and summoned two more people to the shuttlebay.

Thoran: =/\= Thoran to Lieutenant Hyden and Counselor Nehir. Meet me in Shuttlebay One. We’re going for a ride. =/\=

Hyden: =/\= Acknowledged Sir, On my way now. =/\=

Nehir: =/\= Response =/\=

As they rode the lift, Serala decided to make conversation with the Captain, not liking silence right now.

Serala: This is the first time I’ve been on a diplomatic mission, sir. I’m looking forward to it. And I promise to keep my temper in check. And to think, we’re the first Federation officers to set foot on a Valcarian world.

Thoran: Response

Serala: Yes, sir. As ordered.

That was all she was going to say about her meeting with Counselor Nehir. What she had said there would, in theory, remain confidential. She didn’t know the Counselor that well, yet, but Serala had decided early in their meeting that she was trustworthy. Just the fact that she had divulged her telepathic abilities - something she obviously knew from having Lieutenant Maeli aboard - and that she wouldn’t use them without getting her permission first, went a long way to confirming her opinion. And Serala had to admit she had a number of issues to work out with the Counselor.

Thoran: Response

Before she could respond, the lift doors opened to emit them onto Deck 11 near the shuttlebay. They entered the shuttlebay and found the Elysium waiting on the launchpad. She groaned inwardly. This shuttle was dedicated in memory of the twenty seven who had died in the despicable attack by the Consortium’s sneak attack of bots. Even now, she still considered that her failure since she was the Tactical Officer on duty that day when the attack occurred. She was just glad she had managed to keep Captain Brell alive and get them all down to the Engine Room despite severe injuries she had sustained in the initial ramming attack.

oO More things to talk to Counselor Nehir about. Oo

She could see Ensign Teravalis standing by, apparently to pilot the shuttle.

Serala: Ensign. Good to see you again. I assume you will be our pilot today?

Teravalis: Response

Thoran: Response

The doors to the shuttlebay opened and Lieutenant Hyden entered and made her way over accompanied by the Counselor who was only steps behind her.

Hyden: Hello, Sir! You said we’re going for a ride. Where to exactly?

Thoran/Nehir: Responses
