((Bridge - USS Atlantis.))
::With the ship closing in on its destination at full impulse, Ren was wandering the bridge talking to his colleagues.::
RENNYN: What do you think of the new job so far?
SCOTT: Yeah not to bad, I mean I've been on the go since we've gotten underway. Everything thats happen lately has revolved around security in someway. So been up here is.... Well a lil relaxing. How bout you, how are you finding it?
RENNYN: I haven't been on the go so much as on the spot. One of my sponsors for my Starfleet application was a former Starfleet officer who lives on Trill and gave me my first flying lessons. She told me that 95% of your time on a starship is standing around waiting, but you'd better spend every second of that time thinking about what you're going to do in the 5% when a giant space slug comes out of nowhere and adopts you as its baby, or a Q pops in and turns the whole crew into circus animals.
SCOTT: ::laughing:: Well lest we haven't been flung 70,000 light years across the galaxy yet.
RENNYN: ::chuckled.:: Don't say "yet," it might happen! This mission has been enough a disaster so far.
:: As he spoke to Ren, Tama tapped at his console to reroute the extra power from the navigational sensors back into the system.::
SCOTT: I have a feeling its just gonna get worse.
RENNYN: Captain'll get us through it. Once we get to the Krayav planet, I'm sure everything will sort out just fine.
::Ren stepped back as Commander Dickens entered the bridge and started talking to Tama.::
::Ren had watched Commander Walker disappear into the lounge with Kirosa, but they hadn't emerged. He went to Commander Mitchell to report.::
RENNYN: Commander, the captain went to get some sleep. We're due at the Krayav planet in about 5 hours, although Commander Walker told them 8 so they'll be happier when they see us.
MITCHELL:
RENNYN: We're navigating more smoothly now that we're in the Uzoka system - fewer surprises and misdirections here, so we'll be direct to the planet. How are the telepaths doing? ::He couldn't keep his curiosity in check and not ask.::
MITCHELL: Reply
((Happy to backsim more.))
::Ren moved back to the helm, where he belonged. He figured he probably shouldn't have left it for so long, but he hadn't strayed far. He noticed that Counselor Danzia had entered while he was talking to Mitchell, and though she looked like her empathy was thrown for a loop, he greeted her.::
RENNYN: Counselor, how are you feeling?
DANZIA: Reply
RENNYN: Is the treatment working for all the telepaths? ::He was thinking of his Vulcan friend Sovak, who he hadn't heard anything about since the trouble started with the telepaths and empaths. He hoped his former roommate was okay and had been treated.::
DANZIA: Reply
