OOC2: Hey all. I’m simming a bit of an aggressive Alexander because of the transfer. It’s all IC. HE just doesn’t like surprises. No hard feeling to any of you. In fact looking forward to getting to know you all. As a big voyager fan I like the idea of an intrepid class ship!

:: Alex scanned the shuttle before he spoke after the channel had closed. It seemed no one had a clue what was happening or why. ::
Danara: Any clue what this is all about Sir?
Williams: ::trying to hide his anger about not being informed earlier:: None.
McKnight: So what's the plan, commander? Shall we proceed with the mission or head back?
Cattan: We have already lost some precious time, besides the scan’s aren’t giving us any information of what to expect down there. It’ll be a tough mission to carry out.
Riel: :: Have we already reached the limits of the transporter inhibition field?
Cattan: No we haven’t reached that point yet…
Williams: Well whatever we want to achieve here will need to be reevaluated. Brell outranks me and by now he probably discussed the situation with the captain so unless anyone agrees I think his last comment made it clear we are to head home and get briefed on something important…
Riel: Well, Commander Brell requested for "you and some of the away team". If we could ask him to specify, we could just beam the people he wants to see to the Athena, and let the others carry on the mission. We are on a time limit after all.
Williams: Under normal circumstances, I would agree, but with we don’t know who is coming with Brell. Let’s discuss that first, a quick rendezvous with the Athena still leaves enough time to resume the mission. We have 3 days. An hour less shouldn’t make the difference.
Riel: In good faith, Sir.
Cattan: Sir ::turning to Alex:: What I would like to know is if it has something to do with the dangers of this mission since they sent a medical runabout.
oO Hmm hadn’t thought of that Oo
Williams: Interesting point but with what appears to be a communication blackout I am not sure Starfleet was aware of our new mission. And since it only started a few hours ago they couldn’t have sent help at this speed. They must have been sent days ago.
Cattan: Maybe Commander Tel-ar can tell us more.... apparently they only need a few of us
oO Pulling me away from my First Officer spot after a few days is a BIG favor to ask… OO
Williams: We’ll see. ::poting at the Athena that was getting bigger as they approued her shuttle bay:: Looks like our answer is waiting for us.

::With the shuttle docked Alex made his way off and made his way to Brell. As he scanned the room he noted the second away team wasn’t present, nor was the captain. As he got to his old friend he offered him a quick handshake and looked forward to discussing the matter but it seemed there was no time.. ::
oO Odd… I guess the others are still busy at the station then. I’ll check in later Oo
Brell: Greetings, I am Commander Brell, some of you know me well, others I look forward to getting to know. I have a message here from Starfleet that will do a better job at explaining why I have called you all here today.
::He hit a button on his PADD and seconds later the hologrid showed an admiral. He looked familiar to Alex but names never was his strong suit so he just waited for what the hologram was about to say::
Renos: Commander Brell, effective immediately, you are to take command of the USS Atlantis NCC-74682. You will be assigned a crew uninvolved in the ship’s last mission - with a couple of notable exceptions to follow. You will continue its mission of exploration and building relations in the Par’tha Expanse once the trial of Captain S’Ranna and Commander Udro is concluded.
oO The Par’tha system? That’s on the other side of the galaxy. All the way back to the Beta-Quadrant… I just got here?! And now I have to go all the way back?!
Renos: Your senior team will include Commander Williams, who will be your first officer.
oO First Officer! Well at least I have that honor… But unless Femi is coming with me I won’t go anywhere! Oo
Renos: Commander Tel-Ar is the Chief Tactical Officer, Lieutenant Danara the chief of security.
oO Like like they are taking more of the senior staff. But what about Femi? Oo
Renos: There are a few familiar faces joining you including, Lieutenant Lambert a science officer, Dr Pond is your chief medical officer with Lieutenant Cattan as the chief of nursing.
oO Pfieuw! Oo
:: He looked at Femi but she seemed to have her eyes on Renos for now ::
Renos: Captain McKnight is the marine CO and Mr Logan will be making a switch back to his roots, taking the role of marine officer at the rank of 1st Lieutenant.
oO Logan… Logan…. Oo
:: Alex looked at the man and then he started to remember him. He hasn’t spent much time with him but he had seen him before. From where he didn’t really know::
oO Either a member from one of my academy classes or one of the ships I served on. Why don’t I remember this. Oo
Renos: Last but by no means least, Commander Riel is your intelligence officer. They’re all great officers, I know they will serve you well and do us all proud.
Brell: In addition, Ensign Toryn Raga will be joining Lieutenant Danara’s security department, while Ensign Valin Dermont will be joining us as our Engineer. We will depart for the journey back to Federation space and then to the Par’tha expanse, as soon as the USS Victory can join us here to ferry us to our new home. We have a few hours, I believe until Victory will arrive so please see to your affairs while you can. We will have plenty of time to get to know one another on the trip and once aboard Atlantis.
If you end up needing more time, it would be permissible. The sooner we disembark the sooner we will arrive … but I understand this is not an easy, or expected event. I do expect everyone to do their best as officers to accept that Athena will go on strong without us, we can honor your time here by doing well in our next assignment, using the skills you have gained under Captain Faranfey to further the noble goals of the Federation and Starfleet.
oO I wonder what Selene has to say about all this? She cant be happy. I just got here! Oo
Brell: Everyone is dismissed, to see to whatever you may need to. If anyone has any questions for me, I will be making use of one of your lounges while we wait.
::Alex had many questions for the man that would soon be his new commanding officer. But first he wanted to check in with the others from his away team. Danara was already saying hi to one of her new staff members while Merlin left the shuttle bay. The others kept close to him. ::
Williams: Well…. Looks like we ALL have to depart for a new home…
Cattan/Riel/McKnight: ?
Williams: I don’t know… I am sure Starfleet will send people to replace us. But then they might as well have sent them to the Atlanta instead of us… The mysteries of Starfleets personal changes are beyond my knowledge. They always claim to have the best interest of the federation at heart though…
Cattan/Riel/McKnight: ?
Williams: ::slightly raising his voice:: Commander Brell?
:: As the man made eye contact Alex beckoned him over ::
Brell: ?
Williams: I take it you cleared all this with Captain Faranster?
Brell: ?
Williams: I can imagine that. And although I look forward to serve with you I have to admit I was looking forward to my time as first officer here. But I guess being closer to home has its benefits too…
