Lt Aidoann Danara: The Universe Has Other Plans

::Aidoann stood in Athena’s shuttlebay wondering why they had been recalled from a critical mission. The whole thing seemed rather hurried and more than a bit odd. Yet from experience she knew things weren’t always explained and Starfleet could do things however it wanted. Shifting her attention to Brell as he began to speak.::
Brell: oO Could not ask for a better group of officers. Oo
Brell: Greetings, I am Commander Brell, some of you know me well, others I look forward to getting to know. I have a message here from starfleet that will do a better job at explaining why I have called you all here today.
Danara: ::Her attention shifted to the holo recording of Renos.::
Renos: Commander Brell, effective immediately, you are to take command of the USS Atlantis NCC-74682. You will be assigned a crew uninvolved in the ship’s last mission - with a couple of notable exceptions to follow. You will continue its mission of exploration and building relations in the Par’tha Expanse once the trial of Captain S’Ranna and Commander Udro is concluded. Your senior team will include Commander Williams, who will be your first officer. Commander Tel-Ar is the Chief Tactical Officer, Lieutenant Danara the chief of security. There are a few familiar faces joining you including, Lieutenant Lambert a science officer, Dr Pond is your chief medical officer with Lieutenant Cattan as the chief of nursing. Captain McKnight is the marine CO and Mr Logan will be making a switch back to his roots, taking the role of marine officer at the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Last but by no means least, Commander Riel is your intelligence officer. They’re all great officers, I know they will serve you well and do us all proud.
::As the recording ended Aidoann searched the room. Finding some familiar faces that would be joining her and some she didn’t know. There wasn’t time for her to fully comprehend the reality of a new assignment just yet. ::
Danara: oO A new ship, a new Captain and a new area of space. I know I wasn’t expecting that right now. Oo
Brell: In addition Ensign Toryn Raga will be joining Lieutenant Danara’s security department, while Ensign Valin Dermont will be joining us as our Engineer. We will depart for the journey back to Federation space and then to the Par’tha expanse, as soon as the USS Victory can join us here to ferry us to our new home.
Danara: ::Quietly searching the room Aidoann caught a brief glimpse of the new Ensign that would be joining her security staff. Making a quick mental note to introduce herself briefly before heading off to pack.::
Brell: We have a few hours, I believe until Victory will arrive so please see to your affairs while you can. We will have plenty of time to get to know one another on the trip and once aboard Atlantis.
Danara: ::Still paying attention to Brell. Aidoann couldn’t help but let her thoughts drift a bit as well.:: oO I need to tell Iael. Oo
Brell: ::Still addressing the group.:: If you end up needing more time, it would be permissible. The sooner we disembark the sooner we will arrive … but I understand this is not an easy, or expected event. I do expect everyone to do their best as officers to accept that Athena will go on strong without us, we can honor your time here by doing well in our next assignment, using the skills you have gained under Captain Faranfey to further the noble goals of the Federation and Starfleet.
Brell: Everyone is dismissed, to see to whatever you may need to. If anyone has any questions for me, I will be making use of one of your lounges while we wait.
::Once Brell had finished up his comments Aidoann made her way over to where Raga was standing. Even though she was still trying to process it all herself, she greeted Toryn Raga. Extending a hand to shake his.::
Danara: Ensign Raga, I’m Lt Danara. I just wanted to welcome you to security and introduce myself. There will be time to talk more later. I look forward to working with you.

Danara: My apologies if I seem a bit rattled. This was not news I was expecting, but then its safe to say a lot of use weren't prepared for it. Take some time to rest of do what you need to do before we board our transport to our new home.

Danara: Since we’re both headed to a new ship I’ll save the formal department standard operating procedures for later. Right now I need to go pack and let my husband know we’re being transferred to a new assignment.
