to UFOP: StarBase 118: USS Athena

((Main Shuttlebay, Mid hanger, Deck 16, USS Athena))

Williams: ::slightly raising his voice:: Commander Brell?

:: As he made eye contact, the human beckoned him over. The husky Bolian made quick pace across the deck to join him and a few others standing around him. He held a smile on his blue face, however it seemed the predominant mood in the huddle was that of shock.::

Brell: Yes Commander?

Williams: I take it you cleared all this with Captain Faranfey?

Brell: I have not had the chance to speak with her  personally, but her acknowledgement of the orders is here. ::He held out the PADD for Williams to inspect.:: So I assume she could be busy with whatever mission we have interrupted you all from.

Williams: I can imagine that. And although I look forward to serve with you I have to admit I was looking forward to my time as first officer here. But I guess being closer to home has its benefits too…

Cattan/McKnight: responses

Brell: I think you’ll find the Par’tha Expanse a challenging region once you have read up on it a bit.

McKnight: reponses

Williams: response

Brell: If you like, I can accompany you up to her ready room Alex.

Williams: response

((Time skip a few hours later.))

((Starboard side, Deck Six, USS Athena))

::He had enjoyed their meeting with the Captain and had left Williams to converse with her a bit more. It was a special kind of bond between CO and XO no matter how long one filled the position. He found his way to one of the ships many lounges and began the waiting. The waiting that would last for some time of slipstream travel back to the alpha, then beta quadrants. It hit him that as of this trip he has personally been in all four of the galaxy’s quadrants. How many people could say that, he was sure both more than he thought and less at the same time.::

::He had replicated a roast Flk’ji with cheese and mustard sandwich, half way through which he reminded himself that the Victory would have both a gym and a holodeck. His boxing training and swimming routines would be sorely needed after a weeks on the runabout mostly sitting around. The warm roasted savory slices Flk’ji fish always reminded him of home, he was told by humans the effect was similar over a roasted food of theirs called Beef. He knew he had tried some preperation of it before, but it missed that mild taste of the sea that Flk’ji had.::

Raga: Pardon me sir. Would you have a moment to converse?

::The Al-Leyan looked a bit tense. He remembered that feeling as a fresh young officer long ago. He gave him a polite smile.::

Brell: Of course. ::Pushing the plate forward on the glass table in front of him.:: Have a seat.

Raga: Thank you, Commander. ::His face softened into a sheepish smirk and he seemed to relax his stance with a nod.:: I'm a bit apprehensive about my new assignment. Which is what I wished to speak with you about. I was curious about the odd nature of our posting assignments. Is it common for Starfleet Command to have officers traverse across the galaxy and back like this just to ferry some crew from one ship to another when there might be other qualified and closer? It doesn't seem efficient.

Brell: We probably could have picked you and Ensign Dermont up on the way back, but you would had to hang around DS9 for a week. oO Instead of being crammed on a runabout with five other people. Oo It gave you a bit more to experience to come along.

Raga: Ah, yes. Branching out.  Thank you sir. I apologize for pestering you with this, I just couldn't help but feel like there's something more going on with the Atlantis. IN regards to why this particular group of officers was reassigned to her. It has my ears itching something fierce.

Brell: It was more of finding officers that had little to do with Atlantis’ last mission. And of course that we could not board right away as the ship was tied up as evidence. That is a long story that I can share with you when we are on our way.

Raga: Oh! By the way sir, you weren't wrong about those Shimmershells. It was almost like eating back home. I think I'll try more Bolian dishes en route to the Atlantis. ::He cracked a smile at Brell.::

Brell: I always have a kitchen put into my quarters to cook myself. Having people over to join the family in a meal is one of my favorite off duty pastimes.

::The Ensign looking out the window seemed distracted for a moment. The he smiled, leaving Brell unsure if he had heard his comment on home cooking, or if he had seen something. It took only a few moments for the latter to be confirmed.::

Jun: =/\= Jun to Commander Brell. The USS Victory has arrived and is ready to beam you and your officers aboard whenever you're ready.=/\=

Brell: =/\= Thank you, Expect our signals to start coming in at any moment. =/\=

::He stood picking up his plate and drink to put back into the replicator on his way out. As he looked over to the Al-Leyan security officer the man gave him a nod.::

Brell: Time to grab our things and get going.

Raga: Yes sir. It won't take long for me to get my things from the runabout. Unless the winds change dramatically I will be there and ready.

::The joke made him smirk. He had only packed a few uniforms, some PADDs, and a holo image of his family. The duffel bag sat on the floor by the couch near his feet now. Meaning he did not even need to go back to the runabout to be ready to depart.::

::The rest of his things on Blackwell had been transferred to Atlantis by his spouse Hars Vlin, his co-husband who was likely unhappy about moving yet again, and glad their wife Lyldra was officially stationed on DS26 making their quarters there constant at least. Once already He had Hars and the the twins move their secondary dwelling from Atlantis to Blackwell and now back to Atlantis but this time to a different set of quarters.::

Brell: I will see you in the transporter room shortly.

::The two parted ways and once he had deposited his refuse into the replicator for recycling he tapped his commbadge.::

Brell: =/\= Brell to all Atlantis crew the Victory has arrived, please make your way to the transporter room, and send over any cargo transport requests. If you leave something behind it will be a long time before someone here could get it back to you. =/\=

::He shouldered his duffel bag and exited the lounge ready to start this journey to familiar territory. To see his twins and spouses again, and to board Atlantis as its Commanding Officer.::
