((Gamma Quadrant, USS Aesco, On Route to USS Athena))
::It was nice to have some time to chat to the Al-Leyan Security Ensign, although it was true that everyone had talked to each other being on a small craft for as long as they had been meant that the conversations had dwindled. Their small exchange of Esperanto had made Kurt smile it was always good to make people smile with a little touch of home::
Logan oO Out here things can change quickly and thoughts of home can help to ground you Oo ::Looking around the small galley area:: oO Especially when change comes oh it comes fast Oo
::Ensign Raga had returned to the galley to feed the hunger that had grown unchecked while he had been in the cockpit, judging by the speed he devoured his food it had been unchecked for some time::
Raga: Of course. As soon as I'm done I'll be back at my post. Commander Brell said he'd give a ship wide when we're due to come out of slipstream. ::He seemed to recall something and his brow furrowed.:: I'd be mindful of going through the medical area. I got the sense that there's some terse words between the Doctor and the other Lieutenant.
::Kurt didn’t have the time to try and answer what was quite a long story of the relationship ship between Commander Shayne and Lieutenant Pond that Lieutenant Lambert had tried to work his way in on. then having learnt his lesson tried to be friends with them both but as life was especially round the Trill Doctor the Science officer never seemed to get it right::
Logan oO But is that him or Lieutenant Pond given that he end’s up on the wrong end of a conversation as often as I do Oo
Brell: =/\= We are about to come out of slipstream, at the Athena’s coordinates, everyone is welcome to come up front. =/\=
::Allowing the Al-Leyan to replace his plate in the replicator Kurt followed him out and through the rest of the runabout to the cockpit. The Athena was a class ship large but with graceful lines that added to the awe of her spectacle, part dreadnaught, part cruiser, part explorer and part whatever was needed the Odyssey class was the next step on the pinnacle of multi-functional space frames.. that was until the next one came out of course::
((Cockpit, Medical Runabout USS Aceso))
::With everyone here for this first glimpse the roomy front end of the Runabout suddenly felt alive for the first time since their departure, of course there had never been a time when there wasn’t at least one person at the front here. But now with everyone present it felt like it was as the designers had planned, much like the bridge of a Starship a skeleton crew could quite easily maintain and operate the ship no matter what the level of mission but with all consoles filled it a different feeling entirely being there::
Pond: So the great moment is finally here. Took us enough time…
Brell: It does get rather dull quickly, slipstream that is. Which boggles the mind when thinking about how going so fast should not always impress or be exciting at the least.
Logan: One starlight streak looks very much like another starlight streak
Raga: It certainly wasn't quite was I was expecting to do as my first duty assignment. Things, I've found though are never dull when there's at least one marine around. But this ship is too small.
::Break:: When you can hear everything.
Logan oO Oh yeah you can hear everything including the snoring, but just you wait till your aboard a large ship then scuttlebutt will make sure you still know what’s going on even if you can’t directly hear it Oo
((Timeskip, USS Victory, Slipstream Drive, On Route To Beta Quadrant ))
::Their time on the Athena was however quite short as true to Fleets habits they were off again back to the Beta Quadrant and the Par’tha Expanse aboard the Atlantis, it was a bitter sweet knowledge really. As Commander Brell and Commander Williams were to take charge of the vessel as S’Ranna and Udro were still embroiled in the Korri investigation. There was still no word as to how that was proceeding::
Logan oO Hopefully no news is good news Oo
::It wasn’t that Kurt knew them well … or at all really it was the injustice that had been placed on them from an incident started by the Korri and Taventa Robotics, but there was nothing he could do but wait for the truth to out which it had to do as there was only so much the Korri could lie about before tying themselves in knots and giving themselves away::
::Now they were back in the Quantum Slipstream watching the streaking starlight while they traversed the universe again, this time though they had a larger ship to travel in namely the USS Victory. An intrepid Class ship that had undergone the 2392 refit, making her a formidable warship of the time which despite many of the systems put in to place aboard her were now almost standard across the fleet including the Atlantis by no means was the Victory underpowered or weak. She stacked up as holding her own even to this time as well if not better than newer vessels with updated technology::
::One other advantage of being on the Victory was duty activity, as they had a marine presence stationed aboard that of Charlie Company of the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment nicknamed the "Shadows". Those that were transferring bunked with them on deck 13 in Marine country allowing training to be continued rather than allow downtime to grind on. not to mention but a Marine with idle hands could get up to all sorts of incidents::
::Deck 14 had also been allocated as well one office of it at least, starboard side across from transporter room 4 it had been freed up and made available to Marine Captain Amuro McKnight. With the Marine complex office space already taken it was the closets room available. The arrival at the Athena combined with the packing of personnel items of the Athena’s crew, embarking on the Victory and settling in::
Logan oO As best as you can knowing you’ll be moving on again in a short while Oo
::Which was why he was stood here on deck 14 outside the non-descript office, if it was the same as the Atlantis it was functional but hardly ideal for anything other than a temporary office or as private space for a specialised or last minute mission briefing. He had said maybe a handful of words to his new Captain since arriving at the Athena, but protocol needed to be maintained not to mention not having talked to your superior before arriving at a deployment zone wasn’t the best recipe for a working relationship. Clutching his Data PADD Kurt reached up and pressed the door chime and waited for the answer from within::
::Despite the outward appearance of the ship being an earlier refit the interior was all Starfleet and all known, an Intrepid Class is an Intrepid Class after all. So it was with the Office walking through the doors as they swished open revealed a room identical to the Atlantis’s one, a sofa took up the wall opposite the door with a table in front a separate chair was the other side of the table from the occupier of the room PADD’s lay on it as if they were the obligatory office accessory. No wall screen inhabited any of the walls on the desk terminal allowed any information presentation and other than the replicator that was the office, thankfully Kurt was here for the Occupier of the room and not the room itself::
::Walking to the desk he snapped to attention and waited for the Captain to signal him to at ease.::
McKnight: Response
Logan: Sir.
::Taking a pace forward and placing the PADD containing his transfer to the Marine Detachment Commanded by the Captain Kurt then stepped back and assumed the completely naturally at ease posture that consisted of standing completely straight arms behind the back with feet a couple of feet apart::
McKnight: Response
