:: It was quiet at the command post of the Athena. With the senior staff all occupied on the space station or in the shuttle heading for the planet a small skeleton team was taking care of the bridge. With the captain working in her ready room.  With the odd computer subroutines still not solved Kalos Fiorr decided to take a look at the bridge systems. With the problem showing up everywhere it was possible they were infected as well.::

oO This is going to be a long day. Let's hope we don’t have to purge the entire system. It would take weeks to fix everything. Oo

Por’kus: =/\= Engineering to bridge. =/\=

:: Several ensigns looked up from their consoles. They all looked at each other and then most of them suddenly turned towards Kalos::

oO What did I do? Oo

Donald: Sir, I believe you are in charge. You are the senior officer right now.

Fiorr: Very well…. 

oO I’m not going to waste time discussing bridge protocol now but it should have been the one who was left in charge by the captain… Oo

Fiorr: =/\=  Bridge here, how can we be of assistance? =/\=

Por’kus: =/\= I think we got a #$%^& problem here. =/\=

Fiorr: =/\= Language… sir…..   oO Who is this guy?! Oo  Take a breath and tell me whats wrong. =/\= 

Por’kus: =/\= I found what’s interfering with the power on deck 11. It’s some #$%^ kind of alien tech, looks almost $%^& organic. =/\= 

Fiorr: =/\= Manners crewman! 

oO It has to be a crewman right? No officer would talk like this? 

Fiorr: =/\= Now.. are you sure your observation is right? There shouldn’t be anything organic in our ship's systems. =/\=

Por’kus: =/\=What the $%^& do you think I am. Some kind of #$%^&* pest removal tech. I’m an engineer, I know the $%^&* difference between mechanics and tech and something that’s #$%^&* living. =/\=

:: Alex noted at least two ensigns were trying to hide their smile. It seemed they liked to see him struggle with the undisciplined member of the crew::

Fiorr: =/\= Where are you? I’ll come to you right away! =/\=

oO Perhaps that thing is responsible for the odd subroutines bugs Oo

Fiorr: =/\= On my way. Bridge out =/\=

:: Kalos left the bridge in a hurry and double paced his way to the Jefferies tube after grabbing a medical tricorder from sickbay first. As he got into the tube he caught the Por’kus looking at a rather unusual shaped object that was definitely attached to the ship's systems::

Fiorr: Ok, what have we got so far?

Por’kus: ?

Fiorr: I anticipated that. May I? ::He grabbed the medical tricorder from his belt and crawled forward while Por’kus gave him some room. As the scan started Fiorr was quickly able to confirm the engineers report. :: Definitely organic. It seems to be integrated into the ship. I detect some sort of electric traffic between “it” and the ship. Sort of like a brain sending signals to muscle-tissue. The only species I know who use this teach are the Breen and species 8472… But neither should be in this part of space…
