((Medical Area, Runabout USS Aceso))
::On their way to a new assignment, the group around Commander Brell travelled through slipstream towards the USS Athena. The shuttle provided some possibility to get out of the way of other crew members, but not enough. At the moment, Isabel was stuck with Jay-Gee Lambert in the medical area.::
::It was not like he would be bad company per se, but there were just some rather unfortunate pieces of history between them. After the first shock of his reappearance, Isabel would have preferred to let things of the past go and start anew. But Lambert seemed to have another idea and continued just like they had ended it.::
Lambert: So… What are you about to tell me Lieutenant Pond? ::grinning:
Pond: Mister Lambert. ::looking at him pervasively:: Do you really want to pick things up where we left it?
Lambert: What do you mean? ::quizzical look::
::It appeared as if Lambert needed the explanation. In fact, she needed the explanation. Maybe she needed to hear the words to believe them.::
Pond: Look. ::sighing:: Randal and I worked very hard to make it work. And we won’t let this minor… Bump in the road destroy everything. So do whatever you must, just don’t get in the way of that.
::Lambert had a smirk of recognition on his face. However, it was (obviously not knowable to Isabel) quite wrong. She wasn’t unsure about the relationship with Randal Shayne. And the bump in the road was them meeting again, not the accident in her office many days in the past.::
Lambert: ::raising both palms in the air:: Hey, ma’am! ::smiling:: I´m not your enemy nor I´m trying to take advantage of the situation. ::lowering his hands and walking forward:: Are you still mad with that kiss?
::Isabel stood straight up and faced Lambert directly. She was about to get angry, in fact, she probably already would have been, if her predominant feeling hadn’t been sadness. The Trill had practically forgotten that incident that Lambert was referring to, as it was nothing more than two officer bumping together when the ship rocked after a hit.::
Pond: As long as I am wearing this uniform and I still have a half pip more than you, it is Sir or Doctor to you. And as I see it, that „kiss“ you obviously like to think about a lot was nothing more than a rather unfortunate contact of body parts.
Lambert: Despite what you may think, and the injury you caused on my nose, I did not kiss you intentionally. ::he lowered his eyes down and scratched his nape:: Huh… despite my desires to do so… ::staring again at her with confidence:: but I didn't… it was an accident.
Pond: ::unwilling to discuss that further:: I think my feelings are quite clear.
Pond: oO I hope your nose still hurts sometimes. Oo
::A burst of evil laughter sounded through her head, before she forced herself to dismiss that rather unfitting thought for a physician.::
Lambert: If you allow me to be frank… ::he moved aside and whispered at the left ear:: You act as you love me and are afraid do not resist my charm… ::moving back:: but I guarantee you that I only intend to be friend. The past is in the past.
::At this moment, Ensign Raga walked from the cockpit in the front through the medical module to the crew area in the back. The situation was very awkward. Like a storm front that was forced to wait a bit before it would hit the coast with full force.::
::Isabel entered a slightly relaxing stance and followed the Ensign with her eyes, responding to his greeting with a nod.::
Raga: Doctor. Lieutenant.
::It was very clear that the Ensign got the gist of the situation. It actually was quite fun to see him walking through as fast as possible without speeding up his steps. Then, after seconds that felt like hours, Raga left the room on the other side.::
Pond: ::dangerously calm:: Lieutenant Junior Grade Lambert. If you ever whisper something in my ear again, I will file a formal complaint that might very well ruin whatever career options you have. ::dramatic pause:: And considering that other thing, if you prove that you actually can be a woman’s friend, I will consider that.
::The Trill turned around and continued her work. She had’t had to talk to him, he wasn’t her subordinate.::
Lambert: Response?
::Weather or not he tried to add something to that conversation, the rest of the shift was very awkward and unpleasant. It was a huge relieve when Brell finally called them to the Cockpit for the arrival.::
Brell: =/\= We are about to come out of slipstream, at the Athena’s coordinates, everyone is welcome to come up front. =/\=
((Cockpit, Medical Runabout USS Aceso))
::The cockpit felt like a different world to the doctor. She was instantly a little bit happier than she had been before.::
Pond: So the great moment is finally here. Took us enough time…
Brell: It does get rather dull quickly, slipstream that is. Which boggles the mind when thinking about how going so fast should not always impress or be exciting at the least.
Logan: response
Raga: It certainly wasn't quite was I was expecting to do as my first duty assignment. Things, I've found though are never dull when there's at least one marine around. But this ship is too small. ::Break:: When you can hear everything.
Dermont/Lambert: responses
::They dropped out of the slipstream and the Athena immediately filled their view screen. Isabel was impressed with the precise targeting, while entirely unknowing how much skill had actually been involved.::
::The doctor was already used to the sight of an Intrepid class, but this one looked like it had been from a later refit cycle. She liked the sleek look of the Atlantis a little bit more, even though she absolutely loved the name Athena and the stories behind the woman it derives from.::
Brell: Now you may hail them Mister Raga.
Raga: Aye, sir. Gladly. Hailing frequency open.
Tel-ar: =/\= response =/\=
Brell: =/\= Commander, this Commander Brell on the incoming medical Runabout USS Aceso. Ready to transferred into Athena’s support craft fleet. I am also sending you if list of officers I need to have them meet me in the the shuttlebay once we have boarded. I’m sending the list over now. If they need to be recalled from away missions, please see to it. =/\=
Tel-ar: =/\= response> =/\=
---Requested Personnel---
Lt Cmdr Alexander Williams
Cmdr Tal Tel-ar
Lt Aidoann Danara
Lt JG Femi Cattan
MC Amuro McKnight
Lt Cmdr Lan Riel
---Message Ends---
::Isabel thought that it was a rather odd exchange, but she did not know anything about the background of the two vessel’s mission. She actually was anxious to learn more. But now it was Brell’s time to shine, to make an entrance suitable for the new CO. She would have time later to ask questions.::
Brell: Take us in nice and easy.
Dermont: response
Raga: Commander, we're being hailed by the shuttlecraft that just left the Athena. Channel open.
Williams: =/\= This is Lieutenant Commander Williams of the USS Athena. Please identify yourself and explain your reasons for being here. =/\=
::Brell smiled, it seemed like the two are already acquainted.::
Brell: =/\= Commander Williams, This is Commander Brell, aboard the Medical runabout Aceso. =/\=
Williams: =/\= Commander Brell. What a surprise. What brings you all the way to the gamma quadrant? Don’t tell me you took a wrong turn at
DS9…=/\=
Brell: ::Chuckling at William's joke.:: =/\= My apologies for dropping in on you like this but Starfleet had this vessel marked for transfer to the Athena. We were under the impression word of our going through the wormhole would have reached you, before we did. =/\=
Williams: =/\= No, your presence here caught us by surprise. We did have a few problems with our systems when we left though. =/\=
Brell: =/\= Communications this trip from both Starfleet and Athena seemed only seem to come in bursts. It’s possible the runabouts transceiver can't quite compensate for the slipstream the way larger starships can. Some orders we just to Commander Tel-ar on Athena should be arriving to you shortly. I’m afraid you and some of your away team may need to return as soon as you are able. =/\=
Williams: =/\= I see…. Well, I guess that means we will abort our descent for now and see what those orders are…. Mr Merlin.. come about, time to head back to the Athena and see what this is all about…=/\=
Brell: =/\= I shall see you shortly then. =/\=
::The channel closed. Sitting behind Brell and pretty much everyone else, Isabel did not read any emotions off their faces. She just assumed they would be just as excited as she was.::
Raga: They have escort fighters and marines aboard there shuttle. It would seem we've arrived unannounced in the middle of something...interesting.
Brell: This will be interesting, of that I have no doubt.
::It seemed like Brell wasn’t actually knowing either what was to be expected. Or else he was practicing his poker face. Isabel thought it was very strange that their presence came unannounced, after all, they could also have been an enemy an dususally Starfleet does not transfer personnel without informing both sides.::
Lambert/Dermont: responses
Raga: They mentioned problems with their systems. I guess you won't have to worry about being idle, eh Dermont?
Dermont: Response
((OOC: Since this is already such a long one and it feels more like a transition sim, I did not add any more tags as they are already in there…))
