OOC: Hey all, a few tags weren’t integrated from my last sim. So decided to move the scene with Brell a little further in the plot.
((Shuttle USS Heraclius))
::Alex had many questions for the man that would soon be his new commanding officer. But first he wanted to check in with the others from his away team. Danara was already saying hi to one of her new staff members while Merlin left the shuttle bay. The others kept close to him. ::
Williams: Well…. Looks like we ALL have to depart for a new home…
Riel: :: In a hollow voice :: All of us, you think? What about the rest of the staff?
Cattan: they haven’t been called out… will they stay on the Athena?
McKnight: What's left of us, apparently.
Williams: I don’t know… I am sure Starfleet will send people to replace us. But then they might as well have sent them to the Atlanta instead of us… The mysteries of Starfleets personal changes are beyond my knowledge. They always claim to have the best interest of the federation at heart though…
Cattan: let’s hope so, I hope the rest of the team will be fine and the Captain of course.
McKnight: We do what we can. The rest isn't our problem.
oO Simply stated. But the man has a point. Oo
Riel: Yeah, right. :: The sarcasm in his voice was so heavy:: Well, time to pack up, I guess. I'll see you later.
McKnight: I have to address my men. Most of them are being transferred to other posts.
Williams: With the well Captain. I hope some of them will transfer with us. What about Riel?
McKnight: I don't know sir. I get this feeling that I won't be seeing him for a while...
Williams: Yeah… I was thinking the same thing…
Cattan: ::to Williams:: Let’s hope we’ll get more time to spend with the crew on this new ship than here on the Athena.
Williams: I am sure we will. Intrepid class is a lot smaller… so interactions will be easier as well as it’s a much smaller family to work with. Just one or two places to hang out.
Cattan: Let’s head to our quarters and pack our stuff and say our goodbyes.
:: Alex headed for the door but then he stopped. He wanted to check things out with Brell and Selene first::
Williams: In a moment dear. First I have to check things with Commander Brell.
Williams: ::slightly raising his voice:: Commander Brell?
:: As the man made eye contact Alex beckoned him over ::
Brell: Yes Commander?
Williams: I take it you cleared all this with Captain Faranster?
Brell: I have not had the chance to speak with her personally, but her acknowledgement of the orders is here. ::He held out the PADD for Williams to inspect.:: So I assume she could be busy with whatever mission we have interrupted you all from.
Williams: I can imagine that. And although I look forward to serve with you I have to admit I was looking forward to my time as first officer here. But I guess being closer to home has its benefits too…
Brell: I think you’ll find the Par’tha Expanse a challenging region once you have read up on it a bit.
Williams: I’ll have to get to get to that soon. It doesn’t ring many bells so far. But first I’ll say my goodbyes to the captain.
Brell: If you like, I can accompany you up to her ready room Alex.
Williams: If you haven’t spoken with her I guess now is the time…
(( Time skip, alex Quarters))
:: The talk with Selene lasted for over an hour. Most of it they spend with just the two of them. With the formalities over Brell had left rather quickly. As expected Selene didn’t like his departure. He had only just arrived and now she had to look for a new first officer again. After losing Hawkings just a few weeks ago. It stinged, but orders were orders and she knew that. With a heavy heart Alex left his old friend behind in her ready room and started to pack his bags, waiting for a new adventure on the other side of the galaxy::
Brell: =/\= Brell to all Atlantis crew the Victory has arrived, please make your way to the transporter room, and send over any cargo transport requests. If you leave something behind it will be a long time before someone here could get it back to you. =/\=
((Transporter room 1, USS Athena))
Williams: That’s our call… Farewell Athena, may you have a good flight without me…
:: With that Alex stepped onto the transporter pad with Femi on his side and the blue transporter beam engulfed them and sent them on their way to a new home::
