((Ragged Feather, Sickbay))

Stennin look at the avians as they were determining what should be done with their condition. They were surely to get worse if they stayed here.

Bailey: Stennin, you head back with Grog, let her assist you. I think I’m going to go check in with Rosek.

Stennin nodded fervently and looked at Beelam. For some uncertain reason, he was glad he had the help of a nurse. He felt the anxiety rising from the avians, and he was in no way accommodated to providing bedside manners.

Fersis: I think they are gonna help us.

Agwal: But how will they fit us aboard their ship? I hope they have porches to sit on.

Stennin: You have been assigned special sickbay accommodations. We will have all the equipment we need. I have spent all the resources here. We have the pathogenic part of our research, but we need to do our pathological and pharmaceutical research aboard Astraeus, as you suggested.

Bailey: Which you are more suited to conduct than I am.

Stennin looked at Beelam for the moment. He knew his degree in microbiology was better equipped for this procedure, however, the needle work had to be done by Beelam. He was in no means educated to handle that.

Stennin nodded firmly, and then closed the machine he had used.

Stennin: I am ready. Is there anything we need before returning to the ship?

Bailey: I suggest that Grog gather her skin and tissue samples before you leave. One of us might even want to check in with the medical staff on the Astraeus so they know that you’re coming.

Stennin nodded again. Now that they had determined the disease was not contagious, they were safe to return. However, quarantine affairs were not his strong suit.

Stennin: We will make the necessary arrangements.

Stennin looked at Bailey for the moment. It appeared as if she was not returning. He then turned to Beelam, who was standing ready to take the skin sample. He was startled when Bailey's commbadge ringed loudly.

Rosek: ::urgently:: =/\=Rosek to Bailey.=/\=

Bailey: =/\= Shie..Bailey here. ::To Beelam:: Shhh =/\=

Stennin rose a brow at that notion. It appeared as if Bailey wanted to say her first name. Not very professional, but as he looked to Beelam, he understood why. The Trill seemed tense, as if she was going to vomit involuntarily soon.

G’Renn / Any: =/\= Response =/\=

Foster: =/\= Yeah I’m also hearing you loud and clear. What’s up? =/\=

Rosek: =/\= We need a medical team in the Ragged Feather’s engine room immediately. There’s been an explosion and we have injured. =/\=

Stennin rose his head when he heard that. An explosion? That was bad news. Even moreso, if some of the crew were injured. But it was not in his powers to give any medical aid, beyond the first aid training he had received.

Bailey: =/\= I’m on my way. ::Rather blunt:: I’m sending Stennin and Grog back to the Astraeus with two Avian crew members. We have determined that it is a skin based bacterial infection, which I have already started treating with some antibiotic cream, it is highly unlikely to be contagious. I would like confirmation before they beam over to continue their work. =/\=

Stennin nodded. Bailey seemed to be able to relay the useful information short and quickly. He waited for a response from the medical team, especially anything related to quarantine procedures. His mind returned to Meridian for a moment, but he returned to the task at hand shortly.

G’Renn / Any: =/\= Response =/\=

Foster: =/\= No we’ve just barely gotten the biometric data on these creatures in. So if they’re coming over here we’re putting on EV suits, with full inoculations and keeping level 4 quarantine fields up until we’re sure the whole crew won’t be infected.=/\=

Rosek: =/\= Bring whoever you need. Just hurry. =/\=

Bailey: =/\= Take whatever precautions is needed. I’m staying behind to assist Rosek and the injured. Bailey out. =/\=

Foster: =/\= That’s up to G’Renn.  She’s CMO. =/\=

G’Renn / Any: =/\= Response =/\=

Rosek: =/\= Understood. Rosek out. =/\=

Stennin looked over as Bailey rushed out the room on her crutches, getting to the injured down at the engine room, no doubt. He turned back to Beelam, who was ready to take a skin sample, but the feathers were heavy for the small Trill woman.

Grog: Umm.. I have all the tools out just need to get under a wing.

Stennin rushed over and held out his hands, looking at the avian. The avian turned his head up, and looked at the other one, continuing their strange passive contact.

Fersis: If they must...

Agwal: They will help you, I think.

Fersis: I hope they are careful.

Stennin nodded and took

Stennin: It would be illogical to hurt you, so we will be delicate.

Stennin looked at Beelam and held one hand on the wing. With a questioning look, he reached out with his other arm.

Grog: That would be useful if you could hold their wing outstretched, yes.

Stennin did as she asked and held out the wing. He looked as Beelam took one of the feathers out and scraped some of the underlying skin in a bottle.

Fersis: They are tickling me.

Agwal: Let's hope it will stay at tickling for now.

Stennin rose a brow. Apparently, the procedure was amusing to them, something that eluded his logic. He shrugged, and looked as Beelam finished her work.

Stennin: I gather you have all you require?

Grog: I think that should do it. What do you think?

Stennin looked at the small bottle with skin dust and the one feather Beelam had carefully placed therein. To Stennin, he was unsure what it should mean.

Stennin: I believe we require the facilities of the Astraeus. Is that agreeable to them?

Grog: ::looking to the Avian’s:: umm.. we would like you to come with us for treatment.

The avians were startled, clasping their beaks and flapping their wings frantically. Stennin noticed Beelam was getting tensed, and so he turned to them to relief them.

Stennin: I assure you, our facilities will cure you from your affliction. And you will receive treatment for your symptoms, to stop the itching and the inflammation.

The avians clasped their beaks, and the one on the biobed ruffled his feathers. It appeared they were getting anxious, but they turned to each other.

Fersis: I think they mean to help us.

Agwal: we will follow them to their ship.

Stennin turned his head and let out a soft sigh of relief. The avians were less anxious, but perhaps moreso, they agreed to the treatment.

Stennin: it appears they are in agreement.

Beelam: response

Stennin nodded, and turned away from the avians.

Stennin: =/\= Stennin to Transport Room One. =/\=

Lindsey: =/\= Transport Room standing by. =/\=

Stennin: =/\= I need a site-to-site transport to the avian rooms. =/\=

Stennin turned back, and looked at Beelam. The avians were standing up now, with the two off them standing next to her.

Lindsey: =/\= Site-to-site transport standing by =/\=

Stennin took one last look and then nodded fervently.

Stennin: =/\= Energize. =/\=
