Tim sat down at one of his favorite tables with a cup of raktajino and plate of carrots, watching the shenanigans as Chris, Mei’konda and Lael moved toward the front of the room. He’d been summoned, along with the rest of the crew, presumably to do some accolade receiving. Though truth be told, he didn’t really recall anything he did planetside as being particularly noteworthy.
Rosek-Skyfire: If I could please have everyone’s attention, we’re going to get started with the service ribbon portion of our evening. ::to Mei’konda:: Captain?
Mei’konda: Response
As Mei spoke, she scanned the crowd, her eyes pausing on each familiar face, memorizing each in this moment. Right now. It was what she would carry with her to remind her why she’d chosen Starfleet.
When Mei had finished, she glanced down at the notes on her PADD.
Rosek-Skyfire: We’re going to do this a bit differently than we usually do. This last mission, myself, the Captain, and Chris each had an opportunity to lead teams. So it only seemed right that each of us take part in handing out those awards.
Christopher waited for Lael to step to one side before he took his position behind the dais.
Caldwell: Thank you, Commander. Our last mission to planet Sierra-Six-Nine - Vine World, proved to be a great success, what started as a systems test, resulted in discoveries which will keep Federation scientists busy for years… ::Dryly:: although it felt like that happened already. Together you went boldly into the unknown, discovering and then investigating a strange new world. You made peaceful contact with a truly alien lifeform of unimaginable scale. And you endured a hazardous and unpredictable environment with the professionalism that Starfleet experiences. For these collective achievements, I am proud to announce that you have all earned the Explorer’s Ribbon, the First Contact ribbon and the Wilderness Deployment Ribbon… don’t worry, I won’t make you all stand though.
First up, the Diplomacy ribbon to a couple of his crewmates. Tim applauded, and quietly munched on a carrot as he watched the proceedings. Then, Excellence in Adaptability to Renaiae and S’Rorr. Then Leadership Excellence to Mei’konda. After the three had been awarded, he gave a round of applause.
Silver Stars to Veylek, Ral and Tovaan, and another round of applause.
Rosek-Skyfire: ::to Ral:: If you could both remain. ::to the crowd:: If Ensign Wright and Teela could please step forward. Also, Commander Alentonis.
Teela? Tim didn’t remember seeing the name on the manifest, but it all made sense when he saw the little tribble in Wright’s arms. Also, at hearing his own name, he took another swig of his coffee and set it back down before he made his way up. Captain’s Commendation? Him?
Alentonis: oO What did I do…? Oo
Then, realizing he was just standing there dumbstruck, he spoke aloud.
Alentonis: Thank you, sir.
She stepped up behind Mei, offering him the boxes containing the Starfleet Investigative Ribbons as he asked for them.
Mei’konda: Response
That one, at least, he did expect. Probably for his work with Wyatt in decrypting the Borg logs.
Alentonis: Thank you, sir.
Ral: Responses
As Mei wrapped up his portion, she smirked as she reached for one of the two remaining boxes. She’d had to plead with the Captain for this particular honor.
Rosek-Skyfire: Commander Caldwell. Front and center.
As Chris shifted his position to stand where he was indicated to, Tim returned to his seat and had another carrot, watching quietly.
Rosek-Skyfire: I’ve been very blessed to watch you grow into the officer that stands before me today. I had to plead with the Captain for this privilege. ::grins:: Fortunately, he was feeling generous. ::opens the box:: You have grown into a strong leader and I’m proud to call you not only a colleague, but a friend. This last mission is just another example of your ability to not only accomplish the mission, but to support your team. You have distinguished yourself as someone our crew can trust to be an example of what leadership means. Therefore, it’s my distinct privilege and honor to award you the Leadership Excellence Ribbon. Congratulations, Commander.
Tim gave a round of applause, not sure what else he was supposed to say at the moment. Besides, it was rude to talk with one’s mouth full of carrots, so he didn’t.

Caldwell: Thank you, Commander… it means a great deal.
She placed the box in his hand, locking her gaze with his.
Rosek-Skyfire: ::whispers:: You’re going to make a hell of a first officer someday. ::grins:: A permanent one.
Caldwell: ::Whispering back:: You might change your mind in a moment.
He shot her a mischievous smirk and politely gestured for her to yield her position.
Caldwell: ::Whispering:: I did promise you I’d get you back.
He quickly traded places with her, a smile on his face.
Caldwell: Lael Rosek-Skyfire. I know you’ve had some good news recently, I’m pleased to tell you that it’s my honour to present you with some more. You have been a mentor, a leader and a friend to every senior officer on this ship. During our most recent mission, you commanded this vessel with distinction, facing down a hostile threat and ensuring the safety of the entire crew. Your leadership is not just excellent, it is the standard that we should all aspire to. It is therefore my distinct privilege to award you with the Leadership Excellence Ribbon… ::Smirking:: I believe you’re familiar with it?

{{Mini Time Jump}}
Lael smiled as two members of the galley staff brought in a monstrosity of a cake, which replicated the Astraeus made to scale and in exacting detail. She’d spent at least an hour with the galley lead working out the math on the proportions. She was amazed that they were able to get it onto the table without dropping it.
Rosek-Skyfire: ::raises her voice:: Attention, all hands! The Captain has an announcement!
Mei’konda: Response
Tim was silent until after the captain’s announcement, his eyes glued to the cake. He didn’t know what to make of the cake at first. It almost reminded him, in some way, of the metalwork he did for the new year’s party after they’d brought the Chin’toka in for repairs after stopping a rogue star. However, this was edible, and not a piece of sculpture. Still, the detailed work was incredible. And made to scale.
Alentonis: That is some cake.
Any: Response
Alentonis: Well, I am mildly curious what sort of filling it contains.
