oO Does it get easier? Oo

The doors opened with more sound than normal as a wave of heat hit Gwen. The woman blinked for a moment as she stepped free of the lift only for people to start piling in with medical staff directing.

Gwen's gaze looked over those who were being shuffled in. They were burned, bruised and cut to varying degrees. The science officer pulled her gaze from those inside and walked a bit further in, her Tricorder out and already set to scan the atmosphere. Percentages of various elements poured across her screen as she shifted the device.

There were screams in the distance and yelling in the distance...some coherent and others not. But she didn't let it sink further than it needed to. Not now. She could see flames, shattered glass, sparking consoles, and smoke shifting across the ceiling through the large entrance to Operations.

Serala: Doctor, status report.

People who could were still trickling to the turbo lift. Some holding up others. All covered in varying degrees of burns, blood, and scorch marks.

The Ensign's gaze drifted to Sevan who was working feverently. Gwen realized that of all people, this must be terrible for her friend...with how much she heard from everyone around her?

Gwen steeled her jaw and turned her green gaze from her roommate and back to her tricorder as she did what she had been told. Fall into her work and her training. She would try her damnedest to not add to the mayhem around her, but to help.

Fianna: That's a question for Doctor Doucet. ::She surprise-inoculates the trio before her against the theta radiation:: I'm still assessing.

The demeanor that Gwen was attempting to keep up of being calm in this storm of fire broke as the sharp and quick attack of the doctor made the Ensign jump lightly in surprise. A bewildered look was what followed the curly haired doctor she had heard about from Sevan but had not fully met yet.

Tasen: We are ready to help where needed, Doctors. I am trying to get a better idea on the theta radiation values though.

The scientist moved further from the group for a moment, towards the operations entrance. Fewer people were coming to the entrance on their own. Gwen did not let herself think of the reasoning why for now. She wanted to help figure out how bad it was inside.

Serala: How soon before it’s safe to get in?

Fianna: As I understand, the inoculations will help mitigate the risks for now, but we're going to need to hurry in and out, if we want those worst affected to survive.

oO That makes sense why she stuck us then... Oo

Gwen thought as she felt her brow furrow and took another step towards the entrance to operations. She wanted as much data as she could before she shared it with the others. Her gaze started to drift up from her data only to see that there were so many people still within Operations...in various states that Gwen shoved to the back of her mind. She would not think of the amount of people in theory that were gone. They were here to save others, right?

Doucet / Saa: Responses

Tasen: ::Moving back towards the group.:: From what I could scan near that door and inwards, we need to give distance from Environmental Units. A deadly concentration of theta radiation is nearest there. The remainder of the area that I can scan from here has a moderate amount, dissipating as it spreads out. I would ascertain we need to avoid the other units.

Gwen shifted, tapping quickly on her tricorder, submitting the data to the other officers around her tricorder in case they wanted the values. The doctors probably knew the time versus radiation amount they could stand more than Gwen...she just knew the science end of it, which did sadly include the information of what a pile of goop near one of the environmental units would mean.

Tasen: I've shared the relevant values with you all at least from what I could get at the door.

Tam / Serala: Responses

Tasen: Understood. I can keep gathering data till we get people to evacuate then. It does concern me slightly that this is seemingly coming from or at least is now around the Environmental Units. I'd be more concerned if this is the same throughout the Operations Center.

With halflifes and all, Gwen was curious once they got in if the other units looked to be the center of the theta radiated gas.

oO I worry that whatever happened here happened to those units...would or could it happen again in others? Oo

Gwen finished her thought to herself and wondered if those around her were thinking of the same.
