((Main Bridge, Deck One, USS Astraeus))Ensign Gwen'ora Tasen had joined the bridge crew a bit before the scheduled arrival at the Sol system. It had been a quick switch with the previous Ensign who had been handling the sensor station. As Gwen slotted into the seat, she couldn't help but glance around the room, trying to decide by the looks on the faces around her how dire the situation had been on the bridge side. Her and Sevan had made decent progress and had documented what they had found would be an easier way to scan for changelings than what they had done previously. At least it felt a bit more foolproof than prior. That was already documented and passed where it needed to be passed and the two had split from their momentary duo.
With the entrance to the Sol system brought uncertainty and danger...and so much more that Gwen had no clue at guessing. But damn did she know how to use her station and was going to use it to the best of her ability to do what she could from a science perspective to keep them safe. Or at least try...
Gwen turned to look at the viewscreen briefly as their ship exited warp. She'd come to regard Earth as a secondary place she could feel comfortable. It wasn't home. But the woman had spent enough time there and fit in decently well with the populace that she could just be apart of the hodgepodge that was Humans. Especially some of the gorgeous parts of the rural areas that reminded her far to much of home sometimes. Or what her home could have been had Ba'ku been slightly different.
Looking away from the screens, Gwen returned her gaze to the console before her. She guessed the command that would come her way before it had and her curiosity had won out either way. Would Earth be a Borg mess...?
Mei’konda: I want all sensors at full power. Focus on Earth. I want to know if anythiing unusual is going on there.
Gwen raised the scanners to full power and focused on Earth. Though the readings she got were completely and utterly normal. Nothing was abnormal with the surface. Nothing odd in the atmospheric level...everything looked fine.
Tasen: Scanners are showing everything to be nominal on the surface. Nothing abnormal in the surface level or atmospheric. ::Briefly pauses:: No immediate signs of either Borg or Dominion presence.
Gwen looked up from her scans and briefly towards the screen again as if it would suddenly sport a magic borg cube. But it didn't and the woman returned to focusing on her scans. Listening to the conversation around her as she continued to observe the planet before them before she shifted to searching the fleet nearby, still finding nothing odd besides the several ships that would not normally be in one place at once like this.

Mei’konda: =/\= Have you been able to determiine anything from Artemis’ data regardiing the Borg cube’s course? We’re readiing nothing up here that even hints of Borg technology. =/\=

Mei’konda: =/\= Mmh, I see. Keep at it, and let me know if you fiind anything. Frontier Day celebraations are due to begiin soon, and that means the demonstraation of Fleet Formation mode. If there’s anythiing out there, I want to know about it. =/\=

Mei’konda: Well, that’s it. Enterprise should be launchiing from Sol Station now. Fleet Admiral Shelby is due to begin her speech soon. Commander Rosek, put it on viewer.
Rosek-Skyfire: ::nods:: Aye, sir.
Gwen turned her chair slightly to watch the viewer as the view of Earth changed to that of the Admiral.
Shelby: =/\= Two hundred and fifty years ago today, the Enterprise NX-01, the first warp five capable vessel to be constructed by human hands, made its maiden voyage. With it, a crew of eighty three souls embarked on a journey, one of bravery, perseverance, and sacrifice, that would lead to the birth of what we know today as Starfleet! =/\=
As the viewer muted, Gwen shifted her gaze to the captain and first officer before rotating in her chair as she brought up information on previous scans of the borg. Be it cubes or the assimilated. She had officially scanned changelings...but with everything on the line, she wanted to be prepared in case they did see the cube.
Mei’konda: Hm. If we could contaact her, Shelby could be a potent ally. Even though the Enterprise-F is due to be decommiissioned and stripped for parts, she is still currently a force to be reckoned with. Led by an Admiral with direct experience in fighting the Borg…
Rosek-Skyfire: ::pauses:: Respectfully, sir, we don’t know that she isn’t involved with the Borg and the Changelings somehow.
Tam: How well do you know her? Could you confirm she is the real Shelby?
Matthews / Caldwell: Responses
Mei’konda: That’s a faiir point. If she has been replaaced by a Changeling… that would be a serious situaation, indeed. I agree. We should not contact her without some way of verifying her identity fiirst.
Shelby: =/\= … Of what still remains… our Final Frontier! =/\=
Gwen had stayed quiet during the conversation about Admiral Shelby. The others were saying what she was thinking and in all honesty she just wished they had a way of spreading the word. Maybe spreading the word across lower deck people would be good, but then again the changelings had taken on the visage of folks from there and from senior officers. So that would have been a poor idea too. The Ba'ku sighed to herself and continued her scans, looking for anything odd within sensor range.
Mei’konda: Fleet formation, an emergency technology in case of fleetwiide incapacitaation… the Changelings must be planniing to use it against us. But how?
Rosek-Skyfire: ::grimaces:: If what’s happened here is any indication, they’re trying to take control of our ships, possibly to prevent us from stopping whatever it is they’re working to get control of Earth.
Tam: Could we assume they are trying to get control of Starfleet in order to take control of Earth?
Tasen: We... ::shifting in her chair to look at the others:: Hasn't Starfleet always been prized for it's members brilliance and ability to get through near impossible situations? Wouldn't it be possible to reverse or bypass the Fleet Formation software in an emergency? So it wouldn't be effective unless the crew is also incapacitated?
Gwen's line of thought rested on the amount of brilliant officers she had met since she was an academy cadet. So many had done impossible tasks...if an operations and engineering crew could sit together, she didn't think this software would take them out. Something else had to happen along side it...right?

Gwen sighed and rotated back to her station, continuing her wide array of scans she was constantly refreshing and inspecting the readouts. Knowing they were the watchers hoping to catch the borg before they could do their worst.
