S'Rorr hadn't been in a hurry, but he had been walking briskly. He felt full of energy that morning, so he'd decided to schedule the holodeck for a bit. He had dressed himself in some athletic shoes and PE clothes, a sleeveless shirt and shorts. He still had his tail bound up in its usual black sleeve. He carried a tennis racket with him. Though he doubted he'd need the whole hour in the holodeck to wear himself out, it did start soon and he did like to be punctual. And so he rounded a corner with more speed than he'd intended and nearly bumped into a medical intern!

Shivara: Oh, hello. I’m sorry, I diidn’t see you there.

S’Rorr: Oh, my fault! I wasn't watching where I was going.

S'Rorr took the hand she offered him and gave it a firm squeeze, his ears perked up and swiveled forward attentively. Shivara was the second fellow Caitian that he'd met, after his meeting with the Captain when he'd first arrived on board (officially). He'd caught flickers of her scent on the air around Sick Bay, but hadn't actually seen her yet. She had the same manner of speech as most Caitians do, outside of their native languages, and S'Rorr guessed based on her dialect that she was from the Homeworld, like he was, but had a different native language. Like the Captain, she tended to elongate vowel sounds, where his flavor of Caitian people tended to elongate rolled Rs and Ss.

Shivara: Shiivaaraa. I’m a doctor here. :: beat :: Well, intern really. But I’ll be gettiing my full liicense soon. At least, I hope so. If I paassed my fiinaal testiing.

S'Rorr held his racket briefly by the handle in his mouth while he adjusted the P.E. clothes he was wearing, then took the racket back in hand and rested the other on his hip in a casual posture.

S’Rorr: Shivara! It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Dr. S'Rorr, counselor. I hope you pass your test, I remember it was absolutely no joke when I took it. I clocked 4 hours on only part 1.

Shivara: Oh, you got riid of the accent. Thaat’s good. Some people haave trouble understaanding me sometiimes.

S'Rorr broke eye contact and rubbed bashfully at the back of his head and neck. He felt a little embarrassed about it, now. He'd spent so much time and effort trying to kill his accent only to realize it had always made him more 'himself.'

S’Rorr: Oh, yes.. I did some speech therapy. I thought it might make me seem more relatable to patients.. but sometimes I think I shouldn't have bothered. The Caitian tongue is so distinctive.  Anyway, my accent absolutely comes back when I've had a few!

Shivara: Response

S'Rorr: Yes! I was just heading to play some tennis. You should join me sometime! The holo-players aren't as fun a real rival.

Shivara: Response

S'Rorr:  Oh, no, no, I'm terrible at it. I just play to stay in shape. What's your go-to exercise? Don't tell me, the climbing wall? I get vertigo just thinking about that thing!

Shivara: Response

S'Rorr: Well.. If you're not doing anything for the next hour.. Would  you want to give it a try?
