Tasen: Could we lead it somewhere...where we could trap it with force fields?

Fianna: While it does what, exactly? It's killed multiple members of this crew, and I'm not going to let it give me any more work to do today.

Gwen's brow furrowed briefly as she looked to Dr. Fianna. They were Starfleet? They were better than that...if they could stop from taking a life and capture them wasn't that better? But thankfully the others had her side.

Caldwell: Force fields aren't a bad idea but we'd need to make something airtight.

Ral: Response

Matthews: Well, it’s all superfluous with the transporters still being offline but if we couldn’t lock on to that thing, we might have been able to beam Ravesa and Walters to safety at least. ::pause, sighing:: We’ll have to come up with something else.

Tasen: Isolate it in a cube and see if we can keep it there. Maybe trick it into thinking we think it is whoever's shape it has taken, and lead it into a spot?

Fianna: I just don't want anyone else to get hurt...

The woman nodded in agreement but Gwen hoped this would not end in another death on any side. Hadn't too many people died today? They needed to understand what was going on. Why.

Matthews: ::nodding:: I think that is something we can all agree on, Ensign.

Ral:
Response

Caldwell: ::whispering:: The longer we stay hiding, the longer it has to do whatever it's trying to do. I think we're going to have to just go with what we've got.

Changeling (Ravesa): Help! It’s in here. It’s already taken out Walters and it’s going to get me next. I need help!

Gwen looked towards the door, a look of worry on her face as she steadied herself and turned her gaze to Matthews. After a deep breath, Gwen's face steadied as she let the worry fade as she tried to look confident. She was ready to play her role in this, whatever it was.

Matthews:
Lieutenants! Come with me. ::pause:: Ensigns, cover us. Whatever happens, do not let anything escape Engineering. We stop this… now.

Ral:
Response

Caldwell: ::Towards Fianna and Tasen:: Whatever goes on through there, don't come after us until it's all clear.

Tasen: Understood, Lieutenants. We've got your back.

Gwen said softly and glanced towards the confusing woman who was Dr. Fianna.

Fianna: ::whispering to herself:: Gotcha.

Gwen shifted across the doorway so that she was opposite of Fianna so they could each lean against the doorway. The Ba'ku woman pressed her back to the doorway and shifted so she could hear the echoy voices from where she leaned. She could see some of the Lieutenants that went in and one of the Ravesa's. Though she stayed quiet and listened, her focus was on the room.

Ravesa: Response

Changeling (Ravesa): Shoot her, she’s the Changeling. Not me.

Mei’konda: =/\= Delano to Lieutenant Ral’s team. Your team’s trackiing signals are still coming through strong and clear. Do you haave anything to report yet? =/\=

As if on cue, Gwen couldn't do anything besides watch her eyes go wide as Fianna stepped out into the doorway and fired towards someone.

oO Why?!...is she a changeling? Oo

Tasen: Why did you shoot?!

Gwen's brain went wild as she started to shift her stance in a defensive manner against Dr. Fianna just as a tendril lashed towards the doctor within full view of Gwen. And still without having the ability to do anything, Gwen watched the tendril wrap firmly around the woman's neck before yanking her towards the center room.

Changeling (Ravesa): Step back. All of you, or the doctor here gets it.

The Ba'ku woman had just gone from the duo for backup to being the only backup plan. Because a doctor had decided to put them all in danger by firing...and ultimately got herself grabbed.

Matthews: Step back. ::pause:: Do as it says.

Ral / Ravesa: Responses

Caldwell: What's the plan Jellygirl? You hurt the doctor, you're dead about a second later. Don't know about you but that sounds kind of lose-lose and if you were so prepared to die you wouldn't be threatening to kill the Doctor in exchange for your own safety so how about we figure out something where you don't have to die? Got nothing to lose by talking about it, right?

Serala: =/\= Bridge to Lieutenant Ral. Report. What’s going on down there? =/\=

Tasen: =/\= This is Ensign Tasen. Currently Lieutenant Ral, Matthews, and Caldwell are inside the same room as the changeling trying to negotiate as it has Dr. Fianna currently. =/\=

Ral:
=/\= Responses =/\=

Fianna: ::choked:: K-ill... -tch... Hrng...

Matthews: Look. You have the advantage, but this isn’t going to end well. The attack on the Captain failed, and we used the evidence from it to track you. Whatever happens here, you’re outnumbered. There is a chance for this to be resolved peacefully, without any more bloodshed. Please, let’s open a dialogue. ::gesturing towards Fianna, Ravesa and Walters:: Let them go and we can call the Captain down to just talk.

Caldwell: You lose nothing by talking.

Ral / Ravesa: Responses

Changeling: You stupid fools. I don’t care whether I live or die. I am a crusader and we will win this war. You and your kind will rue the day you ever met a Changeling.

Matthews:
There were atrocities on both sides of the war. Nobody was purely innocent, but we can move on from this. Nobody has to stay enemies. Starfleet and the Klingon Empire fought in brutal wars but now they’re a part of the Federation. We have a chance.

Gwen listened, her stance was with her back pressed to the panel but she was constantly shifting so she could peek into the room. She knew she was the last line of backup...so she wasn't going to get herself caught, hopefully unawares. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest from the nerves of the mess that they were in...why had Fianna shot...it could have gotten the Lieutenants hurt...Ravesa...any of them. It was bad that Fianna had gotten grabbed but what else would come from shooting when they had been told to be backup...

Changeling: You are an ignorant fool if you truly believe that. This galaxy will not be safe as long as solids exist in it. You will be eliminated. As the Borg are fond of saying, resistance is futile.

Ral / Ravesa: Responses

Matthews: It doesn’t have to be this way…

Changeling: Oh, but it does.

Ral  / Ravesa: Responses

Caldwell: You have the power to make this go well, if this goes lose-lose, you're going to be the biggest loser, dying along half the galaxy away from the home of your people and achieving absolutely nothing in doing so. Is that really what you want? Your entire existence is about choice, the choice to be whatever you want, you don't like us? Fine, that's your choice so why not choose to be better and if the moral argument doesn't matter to you then it's also choosing to live.

Gwen peeked into the room towards where she heard the others' voices. They were trying...trying to save Dr. Fianna and trying to coax this crazy Changeling into calming down. Maybe even realizing their ways. Hadn't they all joined Starfleet to explore and not to harm.

Changeling: Shut up! I will kill her.

Caldwell: You could become anything, go anywhere, do whatever you want and have everything. You've got choices available to you that we'll never have. So tell me, do you really want to squander those opportunities, waste all of that limitless potential by dying here among us? Is this what you really, really want? All you have to do is choose to live, what could be more simple? ::Wearily:: Please don't throw away something beautiful for no reason.

Changeling: Beauty? What do you know of beauty? You have never seen nature the way we can. You have never experienced the Great Link. You know nothing of beauty.

Ral: Response

Gwen was listening and staying on guard, focusing on the sounds of the Engineering bay around them as well as the voices from inside. Only jumping as she heard the heavy thunk of someone slamming into a wall. Gwen shifted and stepped into the doorway enough to see but hopefully not far enough out where she couldn't duck back in if she needed to. Fianna was no longer being used as a child's play toy and was not in Gwen's view.

Ral / Matthews: Responses

Gwen slowly stepped into the entry, her phaser out ready to help only to watch as a shimmery barrier started to appear only for the goop to dodge and vanish.

Ral / Matthews / Caldwell / Fianna: =/\= Responses =/\=

The scientist walked into the room cautiously, her gaze moving to meet any of the three Lieutenant's as if verifying permission to enter.

Tasen: Am I good to enter as the Changeling is gone?

Ral / Matthews / Caldwell: Response

Gwen nodded and entered, moving into the room to help. Sadly with no residual goop left in the room she couldn't really do much scientifically. Though she did go and join officers around Fianna, prepared to help where necessary.

Mei’konda: =/\= Understood. Lieutenant Matthews, transport is complete. It’s secure for the moment, though it doesn’t seem to waant to stay that way. I leave its contaainment up to you. Commander Alentonis, haave your team continue to canvaas the ship for traces of thelomium-847, and Ensign Tam wiill help from up here. If we fiind nothing else in the next hour, Lieutenant Ral, I want you to start up the warp core, and we will resume normaal operations. Let’s hope we caught the laast one. =/\=

Matthews / Alentonis / Tam / Ral: =/\= Responses =/\=

Serala / Fianna / Caldwell: =/\= Responses =/\=

Gwen listened to the communications as she scanned the woman with her own scanner. It wasn't a medical scanner but it was better than nothing. She was alive...having issues breathing and at least from what Gwen could tell she didn't look terribly broken. Nothing was bleeding and she was breathing poorly.

Ral / Matthews / Caldwell : Response

The Ba'ku glanced up to the other officers near before she tapped her comm badge and spoke.

Tasen: =/\= Ensign Tasen to Medbay, please teleport Dr. Fianna for medical attention please. Please note she does have blunt trauma to her neck. =/\=

It wasn't long before the lights of the Doctor being transported enveloped her and the woman vanished to actual doctor help.

((OOC: Permission and verification of injuries was given by Dr. Fianna's player for the above few paragraphs! ))

Gwen finally stood and glanced towards the others in the room. Her heart was still pounding from everything and she kept her hands clasped on her scanner, worried at this point they would not be as steady as she liked if she didn't hold onto something.

The changeling was caught and that was what mattered...and the doctor was alive. Just everything. Her thoughts looped over what the Changeling had said. They hated them. Hated solids. So many questions bounced around in her head as she moved to join the Lieutenants.

Tasen: I...don't understand why Dr. Fianna shot...I'm glad she's alive, I just don't understand. :: Sighs and swallows before squaring her shoulders.:: Sorry Lieutenants...What is our next task considering everything?

Her emerald raised to the three as she added another knotted thread to that internal ball of stress and shoved it down. She was apart of starfleet now and had to be fine, right? She could untie each one of those knots later.

Matthews / Caldwell / Ral : Response

((OOC: Didn't want to add much but wasn't sure what to do beyond helping with Fianna which I bugged prior to!
Also with the comms between the bridge and engineering, I tried to line those up best I could! Main clue I used was the talk from Tam and description of events from the bridges perspective! Hope it is alright! ))
