It was frustratingly excellent that EVERY scan Gwen completed resulted in nominal values. Nothing was abnormal. Nothing was strange. No borg technology present. No signs of abnormal ships or odd readings coming from the ships present. Nothing!

Till there was something Gwen had hopped somewhere deep inside would show up and continue to prove their innocence. As the beeping sounded from her station at the new arrival Gwen couldn't help the small smile on her face as she spoke. The people on that ship had been her heroes and had pushed her to leave her home twenty some odd years ago. And maybe just maybe they would prove to join them in trying to stop whatever disaster was about to befall the Federation.

Tasen: Captain, USS-Titan-A has exited warp at Earth's orbit.

Mei’konda: The Titan… At Earth? How can that be? She’ll be taaken down in seconds, the whole daamned fleet is there!

oO Oh. Oo

Rosek-Skyfire: ::mutters:: Admiral Picard and Captain Riker aren’t exactly known for being overcautious, sir.

Tam: For them to risk being captured here means something important is here.

Tasen:
They must be here for a reason...or they wouldn't chance it. I wonder how much they know about this whole situation? ::Speaking to herself but loud enough to be heard::

Matthews / Caldwell: Responses

Gwen's fingers danced across her console as she focused her scanners on the Titan and the fleet. Trying to get a reading on what was going on and praying to whatever would listen that she wasn't about to watch the people she considered heroes be blown to space dust in front of them.

What surprised her was how her console which had been functioning normally moments before turned into a mess of static and incoherent waves.

Gwen spun in her chair, giving a confused look towards the Captain and First Officer and then the others on the bridge as their world fell into chaos.

Rosek-Skyfire: ::grunts in frustration:: Something is jamming the sensors, Captain! I’m trying but I can’t get around–

Mei’konda: Lael? What is it?

Rosek-Skyfire: ::rasp:: I–reports from all over the ship! I–

The Ba'ku woman hadn't been prepared for the sounds that came over the comms channel as it was opened for the Bridge crew to hear. Cries for help...screams of terror...voices droaning through the link to the rest of the ship that just sounded like pure fear as Gwen's jaw dropped open. How many people did they just listen to die or get hurt or...

Mei’konda: Red alert! All depaartments, report in!

That shook her back away from those dangerous thoughts of helplessness and fear. The woman nodded and spun in her chair as she glared at the sensors console, her hands immediately going to the settings, seeing if there was any way she could get the scanners to bypass whatever was interfering. The first thought was adapting the frequency to see if she could find one that wouldn't be affected by the interference.

Tam: WE ARE THE BORG.

Gwen froze as the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end. She hadn't ever experienced anything Borg. Other than heard about it and studied them and their history while in Academy. She had even studied with a man who had been briefly assimilated once. But she knew what that call that phrase meant and was.

Once again, Gwen spun in her chair and looked to Ensign Tam. A woman she was excited to get to know. Who she had briefly talked to a few times but had started to get to know better during their brief moment of relaxation and chatter in the lounge earlier that very day. The day that would probably be becoming the worst in Gwen's long life. Ensign Tam looked different. Her face was not the one of the woman she had gotten to know, but was blank of emotion and staring.

Tasen: ::Cautiously calling out to the Ensign:: Divya?

Mei’konda / Rosek-Skyfire / Caldwell / Matthews: Response

The woman's gaze flicked around the room. Her worry causing her to search each face. Seeing if she could figure out who else...who else had suddenly become...was Ensign Tam suddenly assimilated?

Gwen flinched as she heard the phaser fire. Fear bounced in her as she froze.

oO NO. Do not freeze. That's how you end up on the ground or the reason someone else is. Oo

She couldn't bring herself to pull up her phaser. Not to shoot at a friend, even on stun. Instead she shook herself from the ice that had over taken her and fell into something she knew she could do and her station's chair. Science and duty...even if it was stupid in the middle of this. She reached up and flicked her hand across the screen seeing if internal scanners were up from her awkward angle. She wanted to see where the interference was coming from but that would wait. She needed to know...maybe it would help. Maybe knowing if she wasn't Tam anymore in there...maybe it would help keep her from being frozen at shooting someone.

Mei’konda / Rosek-Skyfire / Caldwell / Matthews: Response

Tam: ELIMINATE ALL UNASSIMILATED. ELIMINATE ALL UNASSIMILATED. ELIMINATE ALL UNASSIMILATED.

Mei’konda / Rosek-Skyfire / Caldwell / Matthews: Response

Gwen sprung from her chair as the readings came in and looked to the others, trying to see what she could do as she swallowed and debated on sharing what she learned in the chaos. Before anyone else could turn into  Her hand moved to where her phaser rested on her belt. But she froze from pulling it. She knew how to use it. But firing on a fellow Ensign she was getting to know? Firing on anyone in this crew threw her for a loop.

Tasen: ::Swallows:: Ensign Tam's life signs are no longer reading as Berzan. ::Sounding somewhat in shock, but loud enough to be heard::

The Ba'ku woman knew she needed to snap out of whatever had her frozen. Her Emerald eyes flicked to the chaos around them. As she mentally shook off the webs of fear and shoved them down to rest on the knot of stress. She was going to need a pair of metaphorical scissors to get rid of those once this was all said and done with.

oO If you survive whatever this is...so move and help. Oo
