Now that everyone had arrived and had a bit to socialize, she moved toward the stage on the left wall, calling for everyone’s attention. Before she’d finished, a crewman was handing her a microphone. She smiled and nodded her thanks before returning her attention to the crowd.

Rosek-Skyfire: Good evening, everyone. I hope you’ve all been enjoying yourselves.

Any: Responses

Rosek-Skyfire: If I could please have Lieutenant Caldwell report to the stage, we can get started.

He’d witnessed ceremonies before, but hadn’t ever handed out awards, so when he arrived, she leaned toward him to whisper some quick instructions.

Rosek-Skyfire: The awards on the podium are ones I will hand out myself. The others–as I announce them, grab the boxes from the labeled stack.

Caldwell: Response

With her former acting FO briefed, she again turned toward the crowd.

Rosek-Skyfire: First, I want to thank everyone for their efforts on their most recent mission. In fact, Chancellor Andala sent his personal thanks.

She stepped out of the way of the screen and motioned to the crewman to play the audio.

Andala: Response

Lael smiled, proud of all they’d accomplished. That smile faltered only momentarily at the thought of her father headed to Leya-I for his trial. Mentally shaking the thoughts from her head, she again took center stage.

Rosek-Skyfire: For your dedication and efforts in assisting an ally against a mutual threat, it is my pleasure to present the entire crew who participated in the mission with the Joint Meritorious Unit Award. Additionally, for everyone’s part in successfully uniting the Traditionalist and Exile factions, albeit temporarily, everyone will receive the Diplomacy Ribbon and the Peacekeeper Service Ribbon. ::smiles:: Well done, everyone.

Any: Response

Rosek-Skyfire: Lieutenant Caldwell will ensure you receive those after the ceremony. ::grins at Caldwell and teases:: Your privilege, Lieutenant.

Caldwell: Response

She cleared her throat. Now it was time to get more specific.

Rosek-Skyfire: First things first. Ensigns Sulok and Winslett, and of course, Commander Alentonis, approach please.

As she spoke the names, they appeared on the screen in a twinkling white, spinning into view. Spotlights circled the room until they caught sight of each officer, then followed them to the stage and up the steps.

Sulok / Winslett / Alentonis / Shivara: Responses

Rosek-Skyfire: Ensigns Sulok and Winslett, for your swift, skilled response during the crisis involving the telepathic entity and subsequent explosions, you are hereby awarded the Medical Science Ribbon, the Starfleet Investigative Ribbon, and the Lifesaving Ribbon. Ensign Shivara, you are awarded the Lifesaving Ribbon and the Starfleet Investigative Ribbon. Thank you for your efforts in stabilizing the injured and saving lives under extreme conditions. Your actions reflect the highest standards of Starfleet medical service. ::to Tim:: Commander Alentonis, you will receive the Medical Science Ribbon for assisting Ensign Sulok with the nanovirus infecting the telepaths injected with it. Congratulations.

Sulok / Winslett / Alentonis: Responses

Caldwell: Response

She shook each officer’s hand as Lieutenant Caldwell handed them their boxes.

Rosek-Skyfire: Ensign Winslett.

Winslett: Response

Rosek-Skyfire: ::grins:: In addition to the awards your colleagues received, I am awarding you the Superior Support Ribbon. This ribbon is one of the newer ones in Starfleet’s collection and is given to an officer acting as an advisor to a team leader. Actions and assistance to Dr. Harford are duly noted. Thank you and congratulations.

Caldwell / Winslett: Responses

She shook the young officer’s hand, her eyes glimmering with pride. As he stepped back, she moved on to the next officer.

Rosek-Skyfire: Commander Alentonis.

Alentonis: Response

As the officer stepped forward, she smiled. She and Tim had known each other for a time and it was a unique pleasure to be able to bestow this award.

Rosek-Skyfire: In addition to aiding Ensign Sulok, you provided essential support to Lieutenant Caldwell in orbit. For that, I’m awarding you the Good Conduct Ribbon.

Alentonis: Response

Caldwell: Response

She smiled as the officers departed the stage and she checked her PADD for who was next.

Rosek-Skyfire: Next, may I have Lieutenants Tam and Ral as well as Ensign Wright.

Just as it had done with the previous group, the screen listed the officers names as she read them in glimmering white, a spotlight searching out each, then following them to and onto the stage.

Tam / Ral / Wright: Responses

Rosek-Skyfire: ::to Tam:: Lieutenant, we’ll begin with you. ::motions to Caldwell:: In recognition of your bravery in defending your colleagues and apprehending a dangerous saboteur, you are awarded the Legion of Merit. For uncovering the cause of the explosions and helping prevent further loss of life, you have earned the Starfleet Investigative Ribbon. ::pauses:: It is with personal gratitude that I also present the Superior Support Ribbon, for your steadfast support of me under pressure. Your actions embody the highest ideals of Starfleet.

Tam / Caldwell: Responses

Rosek-Skyfire: ::grins and shakes Tam’s hand:: Congratulations, and thank you for your dedication.

Next, she turned to Hana, a glimmer of mischief in her eyes.

Rosek-Skyfire: You’re up, Ensign.

Caldwell: Response

Rosek-Skyfire: Ensign Wright, normally assigned to Engineering, stepped up when called to serve in Operations, demonstrating remarkable flexibility under pressure. ::smirks:: Your quick thinking in devising a method to disable the hostile drones earns her the Excellence in Adaptability Ribbon and the Spliced Membrane Distinction. Furthermore, your contributions to the analysis of the wreckage in orbit contributed valuable insights to the mission, meriting the Starfleet Investigative Ribbon.

Wright: Response

Caldwell: Response

Rosek-Skyfire: ::shakes Hana’s hand:: Congratulations, Ensign.

Wright: Response

Rosek-Skyfire: Lieutenant Ral.

Ral: Response

Rosek-Skyfire: Lieutenant Ral, you are commended for your professionalism and ingenuity during a critical mission. Working alongside Lieutenant Wright, you were instrumental in disabling the hostile drones through creative problem-solving, earning the Innovation Ribbon. Your contributions to the initial analysis of the wreckage in orbit pTBCrovided valuable intelligence, meriting the Starfleet Investigative Ribbon.
