Zoyara looked straight at Tho’BI, took several steps closer, her eyes locked on his. On the surface of Kydon she had seen a side to him that was almost a glimpse to the officer he could be and now all she felt was disappointment.
Vailani: I don’t know what you are about Tho’Bi? I barely know you but I like to think you want to do well here and somehow I don’t know what well is to you? Laying on the floor in my quarters? Bumbling around, falling over, and muttering to yourself? And now this? Hanging out with some rude dockie like your one of the boys. It’s :: beat :: you know what, I don't care. You’ll be who you are going to be.
Zoyara waved a dismissive hand towards him and turned to enter her quarters and realised that Tho’Bi hadn’t finished with the door and it stood unmoving in front of her. She stopped, her cheeks blushed, and turned to face Tho’Bi again.
Vailani: That was supposed to be a dramatic exit :: then :: What do you have to say for yourself?
She crossed her arms.
Tho'Bi: ::bitten down:: Sorry. ::smiles breaks out:: I am sorry ::smile squeezed:: that you could not make ::smile breaks out:: your dramatic ex-
The Andorian’s speech collapsed into a series of breathy laughs. As she listened to him she thought of Leone and his ‘romeo’ comments and all that he appeared to be and she couldn't help but feel sad for Tho'Bi. Was this to be his future? Anti-grav sleds carrying parts and maintenance schedules - she had seen real talent on Kydon but hasn't she seen it before? A talented ensign wash out or get distracted with nonsense. There was nowhere to hide in Starfleet, they always got themselves found out and they always got reassigned to someplace they couldn't do much harm. The washouts.
A sad would-be engineer relegated to getting enjoyment out of bravado and lowbrow humour. A pathetic excuse for a Starfleet officer.
She eye-rolled - so hard it hurt.
Vailani: Ensign Tho'Bi can you just repair the door you broke and leave me alone. I'm sure if you hurry you'll catch your friend.
She sighed, and crossed her arms. Her cheeks were flushed from her encounter with the door and she debated turning around and going to the mess hall but the thought of leaving Tho'Bi unattended in her quarters made her queasy so she was stuck. Here. With him.
Tho'Bi: Response
Vailani: If you could hurry up, that would be nice. I do have things I'd rather be doing.
Zoyara could think of a million things she'd rather do than further this conversation with the Andorian buffoon. Maybe degauss the transport rooms with a micro-resonator or perhaps be exposed to gene altering radiation. Those would be preferable to spending more time than necessary with Tho'Bi.
Tho'Bi: Response
She breathed a sigh of relief.
Vailani: Finally.
This time when she stepped forward the door opened. She paused, turned and sighed again.
Vailani: I saw potential in you. On the surface, during the Battle of Breetia. I like to think that was the real Tho'Bi. Maybe I was wrong. I guess that's up to you.
Zoyara pressed the door control and it closed on Tho'Bi before she could hear his response.
