Genkos smiled at Gila, pulling the biscuit tin towards himself for a moment, if only to grab one of the gingery snacks and wave it nonchalantly in Gila’s general direction.
Adea: Perhaps we should introduce your nephew to Toto, it might make both our lives easier.
This stray suggestion made Gila smile wryly, which was precisely the reaction the good doctor had been hoping for.
Sadar: Have them distract each other to afford us some leeway? Is that a Betazoid parenting technique?
Genkos took a bite of his biscuit as it was his turn to smile wryly, and he shrugged slightly at the suggestion.
Adea: It could be, it could be. ::wiggling the biscuit at her:: What do you think?
Gila slowly nodded, apparently allowing herself to give the idea some actual thought.
Sadar: W-Well... I-I do think it would make an interesting experience for Kolya. I-I think I mentioned this when we first met back on in the Siamberr Library, but, uhh, having ‘pets’ isn’t really... It’s not done on Mizabet, so...
Genkos nodded, remembering their encounter back on Cait. It had been a fascinating look at some Caitian biology, seeing how their sense of smell had developed over thousands of years, as well as a chance to get to know his new doctor (which, at the time, she was).
Adea: So we shouldn’t throw too many new concepts at him at once, I understand.
Sadar: A-At the moment, he’s getting accustomed to his new living arrangements, and researching the various educational offers that allow remote learning within the Federation, but, I’ll, uhh... I-I’ll mention it to him. ::shuffles slightly::
She took one final swig of the Ferengi Spiced Tea that she had been handed, breathing in the strong scent with a slight exhale following. There was a microscopic change in her posture, and Genkos could practically feel her relax - it was like watching magic. He stared down at his own cup - what was in this stuff?!
Sadar: Do you, uhh... H-Have any plans while we’re docked, Sir? I-I realize DS224 is supposed to be something of a, uhh, ‘home port’ for us?
Genkos nodded, trying to play along as Gila was clearly slightly mortified that she’d asked such a personal question of a superior officer.
Adea: Well my mother and her new boyfriend live on the station, so I am going to try and squeeze in a few visits with them.
Sadar: Response
Adea: I say new boyfriend, but I think they’ve been together quite a few years now…
