Alyndra exhaled through her nose. Opening her eye, the vivid colours of the Arboretum flooded into her mind. It wasn’t the same. Her implant had certainly changed her perception. Maybe it was the saturation settings of the ocular module, maybe it was just her psychology not wanting to admit that the damn thing worked.
She pushed off of the wooden bridge, flowers flowing like water underneath. Looking up and around the room, she felt there was a certain familiarity with the Ronin’s Zen Garden, although the Luna-class alternative was far bigger and more modernistic in it’s furnishings.

Alyndra tapped her combadge.

Silveira: =/\= Doctor, I hope I am not interrupting. I am Lieutenant
Vitor Silveira, Chief Tactical officer of the Artemis. I am wondering if you
can spare me some time. =/\=
Alyndra knew she’d be glad of the distraction, smiling,
not really fully comprehending that the Lieutenant couldn’t see her.
Syrex: =/\= Yeah, of course. I was just playing with my eye; what can I do
for you? =/\=
Silveira: =/\= Doc I am going to ask you a favor you can’t refuse. Where
can we meet? =/\=
Alyndra raised her eyebrow as she stepped off of
the bridge, headed for the Arboretum’s door.
Syrex: =/\= Right to business, ay? =/\=
Silveira: =/\= Response =/\=
Alyndra walked down the winding gravel path leading her out the way she came in.
Syrex: =/\= Where’s good? Where would you like to meet? =/\=
Silveira: =/\= Response =/\=
Syrex: =/\= All right then, I’ll see you in ten, Syrex out =/\=

As Alyndra reached the giant metal doors, they began to grudgingly slide open. Stepping from the natural path to the synthetic carpet, she headed for their rendezvous point. Her head full of ideas for what the Chief Tactical Officer could possibly need from her.
