Gavrin had followed Tamio into the turbolift, still a little nervous. He wasn't entirely sure where the tour was starting, he hadn't settled in yet, and was already making plans for a shore leave he wasn't expecting to have. He rubbed the side of his head before a headache could form, as one always threatened to do when he was nervous. Or tired. Or stressed. Or awake.
K'Wara: ::to the Computer:: Bridge. ::to Gavrin:: I’ll hook you up with the coordinator for the hiking group. They’re a nice sort.
Tarsan: oO Small talk. You can do small talk, Gav! Oo Do you have any plans for shore leave, Lieutenant?
K’Wara: Not yet. The first couple of days of shoreleave are always the busiest for me; a lot of duty rosters to shuffle around to ensure everyone gets ample time to relax.
Gavrin grimaced - it seemed to him, at least, that the Lt wasn't going to get ample time to relax themself. He decided not to point that out immediately. Instead, he realised it was the perfect opportunity to ask some of the questions he was still a little fuzzy on the answers to.
Tarsan: May I ask a question or two, Lieutenant?
K’Wara: ::sly grin:: I’ll answer any question you have, unless it has to do with work. And not because I want to stonewall you, but because I feel fairly certain you’ll have plenty of people willing to tell you about your tasks going forward, and fewer willing to share gossip. What do you want to know?
Damn, stymied. Nearly all of Gavrin's questions were going to be about work. He hesitated, trying to redirect his own thoughts to pick a question that wasn't.
Tarsan: Uhh... What's the Captain like? Does she prefer to stand on ceremony or to keep things a little casual?
K'Wara: Response
Tarsan: ::nodding:: Yeah... they always tell us to go as formal as possible but, it's always different in real life, right?
K'Wara: Response
Tarsan: Well, just one more I can think of right now... Anyone else I should do my best to impress? ::wry grin:: Don't want to accidentally upset the person who's going to put me on scrubbing the hull for the entire tour.
