Bolians, on the whole, are a friendly people.  And depending on who you are, their gregarious nature can be enjoyable and fun. But for people who prefer to be more to themselves, that same quality can prove problematic.   Embarking on a nearly twenty-four hour journey on a Bolian freighter had Alex’s brows furrowed more than they already were from the glebbening thrashing against her face and worming its way through any, even remotely loose stitch in her garments.

Storm:  Maybe you can teach me some silent Bajoran meditation on the way out.

oO Even Bolians would respect meditation, right? Oo

Jaran: I know that's a joke, but every Betazoid I've ever known has really taken to it. We'll have a little time, and I'd be happy to walk you through some techniques.

Alex leaned sideways toward the Bajoran, keeping pace.  Her voice was louder than usual as she tried to compete with the crash-splash of every rain pellet…the rain was certainly harder than a drop - and deserved every gram of the word ‘pellet’.

Storm: Maybe. Have you ever heard of a meditation technique called Kelno’reem? From what I heard, it sounds interesting.  ::Shrugging, Alex continued:: When it comes to the Bolians, you have to understand the problem isn’t simply that they speak a lot, you should experience their thoughts.  ::Alex looked sideways at Jira, enunciating the words.:: They’re worse.

In the middle of the crowded thoroughfare, being jostled from the side and then someone cutting in front of them, Jira stopped.

Jaran: ::speaking loudly over the sound of rain:: I just realised I don't know where I'm going. Why don't you lead the way?

Storm nodded and touched Jaran’s elbow, deftly guiding the two of them out of the main thoroughfare into a road less travelled.

Storm: That makes all the difference. ::Shaking the rain off of her slicker hood, she turned to explain.:: Let’s head down this way.  It will allow us to cross over to the transportation hub.

Alex glanced back.  Despite her pace, Jira was still there.  The rain had reached deafening levels, and Alex couldn’t wait to get back under some shelter.

As they turned the next corner, she pointed at the flashing sign.  "Transport Hub"

Storm:  There it is!

Jaran: They really will advertise absolutely anything, won't they?

Alex raised an eyebrow and slightly smirked as she said loud enough to be heard…

Storm: I don’t think anything is off the table.  I even saw a billboard advertising Oomax.

The tall Betazoid wove her way through the maze of people as they got closer to the transport Alex had engaged.

Jaran:  Response

Alex’s arm reached over, grabbed Jira, and yanked them toward her.  They narrowly missed being run over by a Klingon who still barred his teeth and growled at the two.  Releasing Jira, casually stepping between the two and holding up a hand palm out, Alex said…

Storm:  It’s our fault.  We’ll be more careful next time.

Jaran:  Response

Klingon:  Why should I believe you?

Alex listened to more than just his words.  She focused her eyes on his chin while she mentally navigated the labyrinth of intentions and emotions.  A pressure settled deeply in her chest, but her words landed casually.

Storm:  Because I keep my promises.  And we aren’t likely to meet again.

Alex gestured to Jira to back up.

Jira:  Response
