Bergmen: So what would you like to hear about FORT? Ma’am?

Enthusiasm glowed in the lieutenant's face like a warp core, and quite possibly, the energy output he needed to burn for that happiness at that moment surpassed that of a fusion generator. But he didn't hold it in for long. When an unexpected voice emerged, his excitement fizzled out as rapidly as it had ignited, leaving Bergmen looking like a kicked puppy.

Vel: FORT? What’s that, Bugman?

Ollie stared in shock and remained silent, prompting Lieutenant Vailani to break the silence.

Vailani: :: in greeting :: Lieutenant Vailani Zoyara, and you are?

The former boss of Ollie shook his head and showed interest in Ollie's current boss, allowing the Bergmen to step aside.

Vel: Nobody wants to hear that, Bugman - I’m Lieutenant Commander Glim Vel, I used to have your job. And I’m overjoyed that it’s yours now.

Lieutenant Vailani nodded.

Vailani: I enjoyed reading your report on the cross-ship integration of supplementary life support systems. It was very helpful :: to Bergmen :: Lieutenant Bergmen has been showing me around. Would you like to join us?

Bergmen: ::whispers:: I would rather not…

Ollie stood to the side and pretended he wasn't there, leaving the interaction to the other two officers.

Vel: Response

Vailani: Actually he was just about to try and sell me on this idea of FORT. Weren't you, Lieutenant?

Bergmen glanced between Vailani and Vel, then turned his gaze back to Vailani and nodded.

Vel: Response

Vailani: I'd appreciate Commander Vel’s insights :: to Vel :: If you don't mind?

Ollie sighed and passed the PADD with the project to Lieutenant Vailani, while he tried to smile nicely and positively despite his previous disgusted expression in Vel’s direction.

Bergmen: All information on FORT, including my project reasoning and notes, are inside this PADD, lieutenant, so you can read it when you have time and call me if you have any questions. It was nice to meet you, and I look forward to working with you in the future. But if you excuse me now, I will return to my work. Thank you.

With a sharp nod to his superior, Lieutenant Bergmen turned and went back to the Operations Centre, not even looking at Vel as he left.
