Genkos nodded - the Resolution blowing up fell at his own feet as it was under his command at the time. How he managed to then get promoted to Commander, he had no idea.
Adea: And yourself, have your commission changes been voluntary or necessary?
Salkath: All voluntary. I have striven to place myself where I could be challenged and fulfil a need. The Artemis, for example. There are unique engineering demands required for a ship to operate successfully in a region of space such as the Borderlands. The technical challenges seemed like a logical use of my skills. Certainly, as an engineer of the biomechanical form, you can relate?
Genkos blinked once as he tried to register precisely what Salkath was getting at, but then politely nodded at the statement.
Adea: Ah, absolutely - we’re quite accident prone aboard this ship.
Salkath: If nothing else, the demands of our theatre of operations likely means that sickbay sees a challenge or two. If shore leave is anything to gauge by, that is.
Genkos pursed his lips at that - it was certainly an understatement - what with Chevalier blowign his leg clean off.
Adea: That’s putting it mildly, Mister Salkath.
The Vulcan nodded deferentially, before seeming to realise that they had somewhere to be.
Salkath: It has been amenable making your acquaintance, Doctor Adea. Thank you for assistance with updating my file.
Adea: It was my pleasure, I look forward to serving with you.
And with that, Salkath turned on his heels and exited sickbay. Genkos found his eyes were stuck on the retreating Vulcan with the same curious fascination he had when looking at a specimen. Shaking his head both at himself, and to clear his mind, he turned once more for his office.
