(( Conference Room - Deck 1 - USS Karnack ))
Imril: All that said -- And I swear I came to this conclusion before I got sucked towards another hive mind -- I think I’m ready to try. With you.
Ollie slid down from the tabletop, feet on the ground, and stepped closer, kneeling before Imril and taking their hand in his.
A thrill ran up Imril’s arm, and they gently squeezed the warm fingers.
Bergmen: Lieutenant Junior Grade Imril, if you need a guy within a hundred light years, who likes raktajino, is a Taurus, has family in Gideon… and is free this Friday night and just might make you smile… I say yes.
Ollie looked into Imril’s eyes, then giggled and bowed his head in that moment.
Bergmen: Ah, sorry, I swear it sounded better in my head…
Imril: It sounded alright in my ears. I bit over the top, maybe… ::Laugh::
He sank to the floor and rested his head on Imril, gazing at the stars twinkling outside the window.
Bergmen: Where do you think we will go after? You know, once we get back into the Federation…
Imril: ::Looking out the viewports:: Everywhere.
Bergmen: response.
Imril: … With a few exceptions.
There were plenty of worlds out there that wouldn’t treat either of them any more kindly than Callis had. But such thoughts, such preparations, were for another time. Right now, the both of them were homeward bound, and the way was now cleared of any remaining silences between them.
Bergmen: response.
Imril looked down to Ollie’s resting head. Started counting the curls.
Imril: What’s a world you’ve always wanted to see but haven't gotten to, yet?
Bergmen: response.
