(( Quark’s Bar, Promenade, Deep Space Nine ))

Yellir: Well— think of it this way, if it wasn’t for such an unfavourable stopover, maybe neither

of us would’ve been here now.

With a sarcastic nod, Hallia grew slightly wary of the smirk offered to her by the Captain.

MacKenzie: Oh, right. Destruction of the Resolution, and all the hazards lurking in the Borderlands.

Silenced by the reminder of the Resolution, she desperately reached for some kind of verbal band-aid. Truly some could spend years debating whether they were lucky to have survived or unlucky to have so much befall them in one lifetime.

Yellir: You know, it always could be worse. Imagine being cooped up on Jupiter Station, hell, even in the Delta Quadrant, at least on Duronis there’s some kind of floorshow.

MacKenzie: Well, for being on the edge of Romulan space, I didn’t expect there to be a gift shop… so I guess it wasn’t all that bad. (beat) I don’t know, though – have you ever been to Amity Station in the Delta Quadrant?

The Yelikan shook her head. She had heard briefly of Commander Dakora heading off to Amity Station just to quickly sort out some business. But one had to admit that was far to travel to sort something out.

Yellir: No— can’t say I have. It seems a bit far from home for me. Is it any good?

Addison made an “ok” sign with one hand as she picked up her mug and took a swig. Hallia reached for a straw in that time, picking one from a small container next to a mass of napkins.

MacKenzie: It’s a must-stop the next time you have enough leave to get to that corner of the galaxy. Their XO is a friend of mine, and the last time I was down that way, we engaged in some fun war games with Captain Rahman and some Hirogen who were looking to build better collaboration with the Federation.

Hallia took a long sip through the straw as the Captain spoke.

Yellir: You certainly have a taste for trouble. I imagine this one went smoother than our war games ::chuckling::

Grimacing into her cup she returned the smirk from Addison.

MacKenzie: I know a good time when I see one.

Yellir: You know, for someone who handles captaincy quite well, you’re quite the troublemaker. I could stand to learn a lot from that.

Hallia grinned into her glass wrapping her mouth around the straw once again.

MacKenzie: Response?

Her eyes went wide for a moment. She had acted under the assumption the Captain had simply forgotten after the ordeal, but she remembered her very first suggestion in that situation being the Jailbroken replicator she had used to synthesise genuine alcohol as a gift. Hallia tried to feign some kind of ignorance to the very idea, trying but failing to hold her composure very suddenly.

Yellir: Err— whichever replicator could you mean, Captain?

MacKenzie: Response?

Yellir: It wasn’t my suggestion, but Ensign Kader asked for help — so naturally, I obliged. But please tell me the champagne was good? Adding to pre-installed recipes like that can end up with some incredibly wild results.

MacKenzie: Response?
