((Sickbay Complex, Deck 7, USS Artemis-A))
As she stepped through the doors of the sickbay complex for the first time, her eyes landed on a hooded figure across the room—someone who looked all too familiar.
Syrex: Well, Well, Well…. If it isn’t my old friend… Lieutenant Sadar?
Sadar: Eep!
Alyndra could have sworn that she’d never seen someone freeze quite that quickly before.
Sadar: D-Doctor Syrex?
Syrex: I’m here to be a good influence. I’m here for my check-up with you!
Alyndra beamed at the Mizarian doctor, smiling enough that it might ease her discomfort. However, she still wasn’t sure if Dr Sadar was anxious about her, or just generally anxious. Perhaps being on her home turf this time would help? At least she shouldn’t fall asleep… again.
Sadar: O-Oh... Y-Yes, of course. Uhh... P-Please, take a seat on the biobed over there.
Alyndra continued to beam at the doctor, her
biological eye locked firmly on the bed. Her augment stared at Dr Sadar,
despite her having it for a short while, it always felt like her eye had a mind
of it’s own. Sitting on the bed, the faux-leather scrunched under her uniform.
Sadar: W-Welcome to the Artemis-A, Doctor... I-I hope you’ve, uhh, ‘settled in’?
Syrex: Quite well, thanks. It’s mostly just strange that my cabin is on deck 3. That’s the bridge deck on the Ronin. These Luna classes are weird!
Sadar: Q-Quite. Uhh... ::refers medical chart:: W-We’ve received your most recent medical chart from the Ronin, b-but, uhh... B-Before we get started, is there anything in particular that, mh, ‘concerns’ you? Or is this an, uhh, a precautionary visit?
Syrex: Oh, it’s just precautionary! No offence, but I didn’t want to end up likee… you.
Sadar: Response?
Alyndra blushed, realising what she’d said.
Syrex: I mean, not that ending up like you would be a… ::Gulps:: I just wanted to make better medical decisions.
Sadar: Response
Syrex: Yeah, and after getting my new eye I think it’s better to reach for the side of caution.
Alyndra rolled her biological eye, hoping that Gila didn’t see it. Why didn’t she just say her check-up was eye-related to begin with?! It would take a miracle to salvage this check-up. A Mizarian Miracle?
Sadar: Response
