((Jefferies Tube, Deck 5, USS Artemis))

((OOC: I unintentionally called bio-neural gel “biolinear” in the previous post. Duh!))

The gravity was off. The isolinear chips were scattered across the tube. Everything and everyone were covered in bio-neural gel. Jozial had a mouth full of her own hair – and based on the taste, there was some bio-neural gel as well. There was no way she could work under these circumstances, so she might as well join the fun.

Renirs: Got it! ::grabs the hyperspanner:: It’s time to whack some skulls in!

Floating mid-air, she pushed herself down the dark, crampy maintenance corridor. She could hear the unrecognized and unknown officers somewhere behind corners, hiding and chatting.

Osuna: Crap. ::Looking ahead::  Jones, we need to know the extent of both their injuries… Can they press on, or do we need to stop?

Jones: Kliss can move since we've got less gravity, and it looked to me like Dakora was hit in the leg - again, he'll be slow, but he can move.

Hmm, four people at least. It’s been a while since the last time she had beaten up a person. This’ll be fun!

Dakora: Something tells me I’ll live.

Since the gravity was off, no doubt thanks to these people, she could move across the long tube almost silently, only ever needing to touch the walls in order to gain momentum. Otherwise, she was gliding in the air. Having to hold the hyperspanner in one hand, it would occasionally make a noise when the metal hyperspanner hit the metal of the tube walls. She might not be a full-on ghost to these people, but maybe if they kept talking, they might not hear or pay attention to her.

Kliss’lai: If you need to leave me behind, Sirs, I can hold them off for–

Osuna: Forget about that.  ::To Jones::  See if you can treat her first.  ::To Talos::  Commander, think you can walk it off?  ::Shaking his head::  Metaphorically speaking?

Jones: Already on it.

Haha, they thought you were getting clear? Obviously, they’ve missed the Artemis’ last line of defence! Meet the Jefferies Tube Murderer! Hyperspanner Hitman!

Dakora: Yeah. ::To Osuna.:: I’d have to limit my speed to a walk until I’m treated, but I don’t see why I can’t float around at full speed.

Adea: =/\= Adea to Talos, the nebula is tearing us both apart. We’re moving off. You’re on your own… sorry. =/\=

The voices were getting very loud and clear. They were just behind the corner. Jozial slowed down. If she turned too fast, they might spot and stop her, not to mention, the null-gravity in tight places was proving way harder than she had expected.

Dakora: =/\= Acknowledged. You can pick us up after the dance, but don’t keep me waiting too long. Dakora out. =/\=

Hmm, the commlink discussion proved that they were from the other team. Perhaps they were a boarding party sent to sabotage the Artemis in the drill. Jozial recognized Commander Adea’s name, he was the second-in-command, but the others were a mystery to her. Not that she needed to know the name of every offi…

Osuna: What the hell? Is someone else in here with us?

Shoot! They heard her! Just stay still and silent, they might think it was rats or something.

Jones: Given the day we've had? Probably?

She heard bleeps. What were they doing?

Dakora: I’m not detecting anyone in this way.

What!? They were scanning for her? That’s just unbelievably unfair, she didn’t have a fancy tricorder with her. She raised the hyperspanner up in the air, ready to bonk whoever passed the corner.

Osuna: ::Calling out::  You should know that there are four of us and we’re armed! If you want to stay ‘in the green’, recommend you clear out of the way… Whoever you are.

The supervising petty officer hadn’t told them much about how the drill was organized, but even that lazy waste of space had explained how the combadge light system worked and that the phasers were set to a specific drill setting where they don’t hurt the targets for real. Still, she needed a strategy…

Jozial had failed many chemistry courses in her life, but even she knew there was an element much superior to all the others, and that was the element of surprise! She sprung out of her hiding, utilising the officers’ confusion and the lack of lights in the tube to get as close to them before swinging the hyperspanner towards the closest one.

Renirs: ::maniacally:: Ha haa, take this!

The feeling of a weapon finding its target, accompanied by the satisfying sound of metal hitting meat – this is what Jozial lived for!

Osuna: ::In pain:: Hey! What the hell do you think–

The first swing seemingly hit the unknown officer to head, but Jozial wasn’t giving him a chance to recover. Her second strike, maybe even stronger than the first one, was also directed at his head. Sadly, the officer had managed to curl up, and the hyperspanner instead hit his chest.

Osuna: That is not a simulated weapon, you @#$%ing idiot!

Kliss'lai: Hey, psycho! Drop the wrench, or I drop you!

Jones: Just shoot her! I can't get a shot!

Oh, the invaders were terrified! Jozial enjoyed hearing their screams. Hahaha, that’s what you get for pissing off the wrong technician! One of the officers tried shooting her, but Jozial could easily avoid the bright orange beam.

Dakora: Stand down!

The officer’s combadge remained green. No matter how many times she had hit him, the computer hadn’t registered him as dead, not even injured. Why is it green?!

Renirs: ::raises the hyperspanner for a strike:: Computer, you big moron, you said this counts! These are solid hits!

Unexpectedly, one of the other officers flung himself between her and her pray. In itself, the act wasn’t too remarkable; Starfleet officers were indoctrinated in the Academy to be ready to sacrifice themselves to their fellow officers who couldn’t finish their own fights. But the non-hit officer wasn’t just satisfied with placing himself to the line of fire, he raised his voice so that it almost deafened Jozial.

Dakora: Crewman! ::He boomed:: That’s enough!

Jozial lowered the hyperspanner. This officer wasn’t kidding.

Renirs: Darn, there’s no need to be so loud! What is it? This is a drill, why can’t I play along?

Dakora/Jones/Osuna/Kliss’lai: Response

She lowered her head to see her combadge. Partially covered by her wildly flowing bright pink hair, she could see it glowing red.

Renirs: Huh, look at that. Didn’t even realise it was red. Guess you hit me after all.

Dakora/Jones/Osuna/Kliss’lai: Response

Renirs: Don’t blame me! The computer said it was okay to use blunt weapons or something!

Dakora/Jones/Osuna/Kliss’lai: Response
