Genkos looked at Jovenan with a glint of pride in his eye as he sized her up. He was trying to ready her for what was about to happen.

Adea: Jovenan, you are an exemplary officer, you have nothing to be nervous about. Your people, and by extension this official, should be very proud of you.

Jovenan pressed her lips to a thin line that was simultaneously a suppressed smile and a frown. It was quite the impressive expression. As she responded, she pointed out a street ahead of them, Rue de l’Arcade, and started walking towards it.

Jovenan: Thank you. I’m just not sure if it’s that simple. My people tend to have a, um, strict sense of justice, and I don’t think I’ve always managed to follow it to the letter. They may be more judgemental than you are.

Genkos let out a small laugh.

Adea: I think there are newborn babes more judgemental than I. ::they turned into the Rue de l’Arcade:: So, have you met this ::he conjured the name from his memory:: Grombria before?

Jovenan: ::shrugs:: I’ve never met the Councillor before. I haven’t been following news from Rubicun in ages. There’s hardly any news to begin with. People tend to stick to their own communities.

Genkos realised there was nothing more he was going to get out of her about Edo culture at that moment.

Adea: Indeed.

They crossed a wide boulevard bordered by trees while passing a large temple/church thingy. It was huge and Genkos was sure it was very impressive… to humans. Betazoid architecture was much more stylish, whilst this seemed so passe.

Jovenan: To think of how close all this was to being destroyed. ::quietly:: A bit like in Ki Baratan.

A lump formed in Genkos’ throat as he considered her words. Ki Baratan had been a tragedy, one that had seemed so distant until CloQ had snapped them there during their last encounter. Then having seen it, he mourned those Romulans, and he felt sorry for the survivors, out there among the stars. He had a newfound empathy for Valesha, a Romulan colleague from the Gorkon.

Adea: It doesn’t bear thinking of, Jovenan.

Jovenan: Response

They arrived at the Palais, and Genkos took it in - now this was an impressive building. They walked up the steps, and were eventually ushered into a large office on the third floor, with a beautiful view of the surrounding architecture.

Adea: Well this is pretty impressive.

Jovenan: Response

At this point, the door at the other end of the office opened, and a tall slim blond man walked in. He cracked into a smile as he saw them both, positively rushing over and grabbing Genkos by the hand.

Grombria: You - you must be Commander Adea. ::he pointed to himself:: Councillor Grombira. ::he turned to Jovenan:: And this… this must be our esteemed Jovenan. ::he let out a laugh:: Not what you were expecting, eh? They put me here because of my “excessive personality” - I don’t think any of our people wanted to deal with me ::another laugh:: So, what can I get you?

Genkos gave Jovenan a sidelong glance that said “what in the four hells is going on here”.

Adea: Um, just a tea please.

Jovenan: Response

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
