((Molly Malone’s Irish Pub - Deck 225, Deep Space 224))

With her first mission with Starfleet completed, some downtime was a very welcome change of pace. Hopefully, Deep Space 224 would prove an amazing place to recuperate from the mission as her arm needed a bit of light work for a change. Her first posting had been aboard a space station so acclimating shouldn’t be too hard. Besides, she took out some time to explore and pretend to be a “civilian”.

Alroyo had wandered her way down to the first promenade and done some minor sight-seeing to look at the shops. She had finally ditched her old uniform with the sleeves cut off for just a simple outfit of jeans and a red sweater, although it seemed even off duty red still was a theme. Another theme of the night was that she had grown hungry and was on the lookout for any nice places to eat. The local selections of the first promenade weren’t appealing to her, until her eyes landed on the sign of a Molly Malone’s Irish Pub.

oO I think I went to one of these “Irish Pubs” on Earth Oo

She walked into the pub and took a quick glance around, it was… typical? Was that the word she could use to describe the interior of the place? There had been other bars just like it on Earth she had been to, there was even a handful on Bajor thanks to the influence of a famous engineer who served on Deep Space Nine. But she didn’t mean it as a way to critique it, if anything that added to the charm, that humans still find a way to make a somewhat plain looking pub so deep in space.

The Bajoran woman looked around the pub to see if there was any available seating. What she did find was a red haired human woman she almost didn’t recognize as her commanding officer sitting at the bar. It must have been the fact she was in a civilian outfit and eating… chicken wings. Perhaps because Lyara had seen her as a hardass, it was a little hard for her to picture MacKenzie eating chicken wings, but she regularly learned that in Starfleet expectations were something to be shattered.

She walked up next to the captain enjoying her wings and politely greeted her.

Lyara: Fancy seeing you here captain!

MacKenzie seemed to have frozen from Lyara’s greeting, maybe she didn’t recognize her at first either. Or maybe calling her captain while she was in civilian clothing might have been too formal for the occasion. Before Lyara could say something to save the awkwardness MacKenzie turned to face her.

MacKenzie: Ensign – fancy running into you here. Welcome to Molly Malone’s. Is this your first time?

Lyara: Yes, it is. I’ve never been in this part of the galaxy before.

MacKenzie gestured to the empty seat next to her.

MacKenzie: Won’t you join me?

Lyara: I’d love to!

She gave the captain a smile and sat down next to her on the stool she motioned to. As she sat down the bartender handed her a menu without. A little confused she picked it up, but she realised he probably had overheard the conversation with her captain.

MacKenzie: Response

Alroyo glanced at her arm which now looked as if it was never stabbed. Although it still ached slightly from the incident.

Lyara: My arm’s doing good. Thanks to your handiwork of course.

She was acting like a fool when she got the wound and had it coming, and had even acted a little out of line due to the pain and blood loss. But, she was thankful that the captain had patched her up.

MacKenzie: Response

Lyara: I’m gonna get a check up since there’s some minor pain every once in a while. Like when you work out but it’s just a little more intense.

She chuckled a bit as she started to look over the menu. Maybe there would be some good food to help with the pain.

MacKenzie: Response

Lyara: Any recommendations?

Lyara looked to MacKenzie and motioned to the menu.
