Sada had left with the Colony Administrator, Zoy and Gnai, to handle the evacuation of the colonists to a safe distance. Morgan was the first to speak.

Morgan: Well, where do we start?

Vitor took a deep breath and took a step forward.

Silveira: First we get close. Carefully. If the tricorder’s don’t work, what other options do we have?

Imril: If I’m right about the reason for the interference, the only way to disable it is to get inside and manually shut the source down. But I’d love to hear any other ideas?

Morgan: response.

Vitor stepped closer, carefully and looked around at the wreck that was partially visible. He pointed to the left.

Silveira: Does that look like a hatch?

Imril raised their PADD and appeared to have trouble making it work. Even with some “persecutive engineering”, in the form of a few taps on the side of the PADD.

Imril: Maybe, maybe not? I can’t get the fighter schematic back up to be sure. Could be a fueling port.

Morgan: response

Vitor rolled his eyes and started walking in that direction as he shrugged.

Silveira: Of course I am not going in. Not at least without reaching Doctor Sadar. ::He turned, winked and smiled at Imril and Morgan.:: I think we should all get inside… Once we call her.

Imril: And get her permission to go in without her?

Vitor shrugged and tipped his head.

Silveira: Maybe…

Morgan: Response

Imril: We should probably determine if that is a way into the ship before alerting Doctor Sadar.

Imril stepped up alongside Vitor and examined the hatch’ more closely. Vitor nodded and kneeled down examining the hull plating.

Imril: Sirs.. How long can a Changeling survive away from the Great Link?

Vitor shrugged and looked at Morgan.

Silveira: Good question… I don’t think they can last very long… Do you know Doc?

Morgan: Response

Vitor looked at the soil and at the now surfaced wreckage. They had given a decade estimate, considering it might have been a ship from the Dominion War. Vitor frowned, it's also been decades since he last visited an archeological site with his grandfather, but being a History lover, and grandson to an Historian, he did remember a few things.

And the soil around the wreck… It looked older.

Silveira: Interesting… It feels like this has been down for… a few decades… ::he pointed to the half excavated part of the wreckage.:: The sedimentation here… Looks like something that took decades to settle… But we can’t be sure without a tricorder. ::He shook his head and stood up looking at Imril:: Have you found something Ensign?

Imril/Morgan: Response

Vitor looked at Morgan. Although Sada was the informal leader, most of the others shared the same rank. And since this wasn’t officially a mission, tempted as he was to get in, they all still needed to row the boat in the same direction.

Silveira: Well, it looks like we have to reach the Boss.

Imril/Morgan: Response

He nodded and tapped his combadge.

Silveira: =/\= Silveira to Doctor Sadar

The chirping sounded off and a string of static came through the open comline.
Vitor insisted another time

Silveira: =/\= Silveira to Doctor Sadar

The result was pretty much the same. He shrugged and went for it again.

Silveira: =/\= Silveira to Doctor Sadar, please respond…

It worked but there was a lot of interference.

Sadar: =/\= Response

Vitor raised his voice.

Silveira: =/\= It’s hard to understand you. I have a hunch this ship is older, but until we get inside we can’t be sure. I am considering going in. Please advise

Imril/Morgan: Response

Sadar: =/\= Response
