((Counselor's Office, Deck 7, USS Artemis-A))
Jashkaa clasped her hands together over her knee. Her patient was reluctant to talk about the crux of the matter, as was common, and so she was giving her the nudge that was needed.
Jashkaa: Please, treat me like an idiot, Gila. Tell me exactly what happened.
Sadar: U-Understood… ::deep breath:: Alongside Commander Adea, Lieutenant Jovenan and a newly-boarded Ensign, the entity known as CloQ transported us to an alternate timeline, in Commander Adea’s childhood home. In that alternate timeline, we learned, the Dominion’s assassination of the Romulan Senator Vreenak never occurred, meaning that the Romulans never entered the war on the side of the Alliance... ::looks down at her hands:: So... It was decided that... That we had to rectify that.
The Mizarian stared into space for a moment, clearly transported back to the mission in a way that was not necessarily conducive to good mental health. So instead, the Orion gave her a soft, gentle nudge by using the patient’s name to bring her back to the present.
Jashkaa: Gila?
Sadar: ::snaps out of it:: Umm… ::twists her ring:: Well… W-We managed to locate a window, leading us to the Romulan homeworld, in the capital of Ki Baratan, just prior to the Senator’s return home. I-It was, uhh… Deduced that we still had time to… To… ::struggles with the word:: Put history back on course, so we snuck into a planetary defense turret, with the intention of planting evidence that Dominion operatives used it to… To shoot down the Senator’s Ship.
Jashkaa nodded and pursed her lips together, nibbling slightly at the insides as she considered her next response carefully.
Jashkaa: And you were made to feel it was the only way?
Sadar: I… I don’t know. ::twists her anxiety band:: CloQ hinted that there might’ve been another way, but I’m not much in a mood to take their words seriously considering what they put us through just to prove a point, and yet… They never lied outright.
CloQ… oh if Jashkaa had a bar of latinum for every session that had brought up that ridiculous time-obsessed entity, she’d be able to retire from Starfleet and build her own practice out of gold.
Jashkaa: So you remain unconvinced?
Sadar: ... Yes Si-... Yes. I just... Assassinating innocent people… It was a… Very trying mission for me, in more ways than I’d anticipated. ::brief sigh:: Even if one felt that the mission was wrong, that what you had to do to ensure the survival of the galaxy at large was wrong, one still has to follow orders. ::twists the obsidian ring::
Jashkaa raised a single, slender finger, the perfectly manicured nail pointing to the ceiling. As was typical with these sessions, the patient had used a particular word that raised her professional hackles.
Jashkaa: Orders? So this not something you did of your own free will?
Sadar: Response
Jashkaa nodded and her hand returned to her knee as she looked at the Mizarian - if she kept twisting that ring, her whole finger would come off. She indicated it with a wave of her hand.
Jashkaa: So this is you struggling with the concept of morality versus duty?
Sadar: Response

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
