((Elysium, Deck 5, USS Artemis))
Silveira: I was just doing my job. There isn’t anything heroic about that.
Olivera: Don’t be so modest. It took skill to destroy the Shint.
Jovenan: No, the Shint are extremely dangerous. You must be very brave to fight them. ::flutters eyelashes subtly:: There must be something I can do to repay saving my life.
Jovenan’s approach was as subtle as a shuttle to the hull. She hadn’t hesitated in complimenting, leering and getting very close to Sil. And so far, it seemed to work. While Sil didn’t respond to her tactics at full force quite yet, she didn’t need telepathy to tell he was not uninterested. At least he hadn’t walked away from the honey pot yet.
Olivera: At the very least share a drink with him.
Silveira: I will take the drink if you wish, but there is no need to repay me.
It was the time to add even more fuel to the fire. Jovenan “casually” lowered her hand onto the table, “accidentally” touching Sil’s hand with hers. The contact resumed for several seconds until Jovenan pulled the hand away.
Jovenan: Your ship is amazing, we don’t have anything like it. Maybe you could give me a tour… or show me your favourite spot. I’d like to see where you keep the big guns.
Vik stood up. He clearly had seen enough.
Olivera: I don’t think Sil will allow, even you, there, maybe you can think of something else to do. So I will leave you both to it.
oO Oh sod off, can’t you see I’m working! Oo
Sil bid Vik farewell in the form of a silent nod, and as he walked away, the two officers remaining turned back to each other. Jovenan saw the weakness in her plan, as her attempts to trap Sil were less than obvious. Sil probably knew what she was doing, but still, he sat there without leaving.
Silveira: I will gladly give you a tour of the ship. ::he turned serious:: But I will not grant you access to areas you're restricted.
Jovenan’s expression didn’t change, even though she frowned a little inside. Well, that’s it. She’s been discovered. He’ll probably ditch her and go inform their captain of a spy among the guests, and she’ll have to return to the filthy, miserable Desdemona and…
Sil leaned in and smiled.
Silveira: If you want we can forget work, and just get to know each other better. I think we both deserve a time off. And I know just the spot to treat you like a Queen.
Wha- what was this!? Jovenan had approached him seductively in an attempt to spy on their weapons technology, but even after she had been revealed, he wanted to carry on flirting. Was he honey trapping her?
She blushed.
Why was it working!?
Jovenan: Are you sure you want to, with me? For what Vik implied, been seen with me might get you in trouble.
Silveira: I don’t know about you, but I am feeling very lonely lately. I certainly would appreciate your company.
Jovenan exhaled a little. She was an entire universe away from her home, family and friends. Even if she managed to return to their universe, she’d still be posted on the Desdemona, and she couldn’t foresee the day she returned back to the God’s Claims, if ever with the current state of the war. And on the Commonwealth ship, she was surrounded only by rude and distant people. Sil’s offer was tempting.
Jovenan: I know what you mean. ::stares him to the eyes, smiles:: I’d love stay with you.
Silveira: Have you visited the Holodeck?
Jovenan: I haven’t. Want to show me the way?
Silveira: Response
((Near Holodecks 3&4, Deck 3, USS Artemis))
Sil had promised her a surprise. Jovenan followed him out of the turbolift to the corridors on deck 3. The information display Jovenan had seen earlier had stated this deck also housed a mess hall – different from the lounge they had been earlier – and a genuine arboretum. The more Jovenan learnt of this ship and its crew, the more she felt like she could relate more to them than the Commonwealth aliens. It was no Rubicun nor Divine Fleet vessel, but where it lacked in one aspect, it shined in another.
Jovenan remained near Sil as they walked down the corridors, passing several crewmembers in almost identical uniforms. He had said he wanted to know her little better, so she wondered how much she could open up to him. If he was doing some kind of a counterintelligence operation against her, she should say as little as possible. Still…
Jovenan: I’m sorry about what Vik said. He’s just… Well, actually, I don’t know what he is like. I don’t really know him at all.
Silveira: Response
Jovenan: No, I talked with him the first time only just before you came in. I haven’t known anyone on the Desdemona for long. I met them all only, I don’t even know anymore, days ago? Not even weeks.
She wanted to say she didn’t like or even care any of them much, but she feared that might give too much information about their status to the Starfleeters. Still, she wasn’t sure if Sil would believe her if she had said that. The discussion before hadn’t done much good to her reliability. She regretted it already.
Silveira: Response
Jovenan: ::cheerier:: But let’s not care about them! Where are we going?
They reached a door, different from the others, and Sil accessed an interface near the arch surrounding the door. Jovenan was curious.
Silveira: Response
Jovenan: Holograms? Yes, we have some, used for training for example. But I’m not sure what you mean with a holographic deck.
