Vitor leaned back as he dropped another PADD to the pending stack.
He was still, as that old Portuguese expression said, with the flea behind his ear.

The repairs were completed. The diagnostics were in the expected interval. But the new phaser array was still slightly off from the values he wanted it to be.

With Hallia still away he made a mental note to seek Salkath. Maybe the two could fine tune the phaser just the way Vitor wanted.

Maybe Vitor was being too picky. And likely overzealous. Replacing all the unused torpedoes might have been an exaggeration.
Yet he wanted to make sure they had a “fresh” batch before they left for the next mission.

He looked again at the PADD. Vitor was writing a request for a weapons drill as soon as possible. To test out the systems after the repairs.

Considering how their last drill ended up he reconsidered it before sending, ence the fate of the PADD was sealed. Resting on the pending stack.

He was about to stand up when his chime chirped. Raising an eyebrow he replied.

Silveira: Enter.

A gold shirt Ensign he never saw entered quickly, looking for a place to unload his “cargo” of PADDs.

Dropping them in the closest chair, he gave Vitor an apologetic look.

Unlike his usual self Vitor kept his eyebrow raised. And a neutral expression.

Bergmen: I’m so sorry, sir. I have many tasks to handle for operations, and the time for the ship's departure is getting shorter by the minute, so there is a lot that needs to be reviewed and clarified…

The Ensign swiftly scanned the PADDs on the chair and selected one.
Vitor straightened himself in his seat.

Bergmen: Let me start again. Good afternoon, sir. Ensign Bergmen, Operations. I’m here to clarify your request for additional space in cargo bay for your department and that slot you requested for resupply…

oO OK, that's more like it. Oo

Vitor smiled, stood up and nodded to the Ensign.

Silveira: Good afternoon.  It's a pleasure to meet you Ensign. I guess you already know that I am Lieutenant Silveira. What may I help you with?

The Ensign handed over the PADD. Vitor nodded again politely as he looked at it.
The first line almost made him react.

Bergmen: As per the schedule, we can accommodate you for the late slot tomorrow at 23:00 ZULU. It's important for someone from your team to be present for handover and supervision since these are ADR items, according to the manifest. About that space in cargo hold, it’s a little more difficult, sir. You will be required to fill out a new form that we just received from Operations Command. ::looks apologetic:: I apologize, sir. I'm here to assist you if you need help.

oO Foda-se Oo

The Portuguese curse word came to him ever before he was able to censor it.
That would mean a reshuffle of the roster slots. He was told that would arrive early in the morning, and some of his people he had already tasked for that weren't available that late.

As for the extra room… That was another battle altogether.

oO Too bad I don't have someone else in here, so we could say “that's another battle” like in the movie. Oo

He forced a smile, after all he shouldn't be shooting the messenger.

Silveira: That late delivery just bogged my roster schedule, but rest assured my people will be there. I have two teams assigned for that. As for the extra room, why do I need a new form? It's for extra parts and maintenance supplies.

Bergmen: Response

Vitor raised his eyebrow again. He really hated the bureaucratic part of his work.
But he knew Bergmen was just doing his job. And how things were going, in the aftermath of Frontier Day, he really didn’t envy anyone working in Operations.
As a former Chief, even if for a short while he understood the challenges of that duty post.

Silveira: Really? For additional phaser emitter parts? I don’t want us to have to slug trough, like we did last mission, if another phaser strip is damaged out of commission. Besides, Tactical doesn’t use much space. We have our own spots for the torpedoes. A little extra room isn’t that much to ask. So what do you propose? How can we work this through?

Bergmen: Response

Vitor almost frowned, but he simply nodded, trying not to change his expression.

oO The joys of being a Department head. Oo

Silveira: I see. Very well, what do you need me to do next as Tactical Chief?

Bergmen: Response

OOC: Since we are starting the mission soon I think we can leave any details to be worked off screen.
