Genkos smiled a little maudlin smile, and brushed a leaf from underfoot with his cane. He was a little surprised that many of the new ensigns had not remarked upon the device, but then with Gnai, the Galadoran may not be familiar with Betazoid physiognomy.
Adea: ~ I do miss it, really, I don’t get to do as much as I would like. But I can always insist on doing SOME doctoring, I just never have the time; ~
Gnai: ~ What’s it like being a doctor? The Academy only covered… basics. ~
Genkos smirked at the question - it was so broad a question, and yet the answer was very small.
Adea: ~ It’s simple - someone is hurt, and we help them. Obviously how we do that can be incredibly complex, but it’s mainly variations on that theme. ~
As Genkos spoke, Gnai bobbed along politely, and the doctor wondered what it was thinking.
Gnai: ~ Interesting. On Galador II, there isn’t much need for doctors anymore. ~
Genkos raised an eyebrow - that was most curious.
Adea: ~ Really? How come? ~
Gnai: ~ I ::whole:: have no threats within my ::whole:: cities. And I ::partial:: am identical to every part of myself ::whole::; there is no genetic disease. ~
Genkos paused for a moment as the ramifications of what it was saying fell upon his ears. It took him a little bit of effort to parse the differences between Gnai referring to itself as opposed to Galadorans as a whole. It was a curious verbal (or in this case, mental) tick.
Adea: ~ But do you have doctors in case of injury? What about death and old age? Apologies for the questions, I am fascinated ~
Gnai: ~ Response ~
Adea: ~ What about from a purely educational or academic standpoint - do you have students of Galadoran biology? ~
Gnai: ~ Response ~
