Sam tried her hardest not to look uncomfortable or suspicious but was pretty sure she was failing as she turned to the bartender and hoped for the best.
S. Richards: Can I get your best fruity cocktail here for my friends ::gesturing to Sil and Lyara:: Y’know, with a little umbrella or somethin’? And uh… Just-Just a water for me.
The bartender gave her a confused look and nodded before getting to work on the order.
Silveira: Interesting choice…
Lyara: ::With slight concern:: Everything ok girl?
S. Richards: ::Trying to speak unsuspiciously:: Oh, I uh, I’m just not feeling like drinking tonight.
She smiled and hoped they wouldn’t press the issue any further.
Silveira: Of course, after all we don’t need heavy drinks to have fun.
Lyara: And we’re here for you, anytime you need it.
Her eyes were closed as she tried to think of a response. It was almost obvious that they now thought she had a drinking problem. As soon as she went to speak, Sil chimed in first.
Silveira: I have to reveal something to you both…
Lyara: Secret wife…
Sam gave Lyara a confused look and shook her head before returning to look at Sil to let him finish speaking.
Silveria: No… But I am not going to be much fun or flirty. I have someone… I mean I have feelings for someone on board so… I am sorry but I might be a little boring tonight.
A smile spread across her face. She had no idea who it was that Sil was referring to, but there was the hope that everything worked out wonderfully for Sil and his lady… Or fella? Sam didn’t care who he liked, as long as they were both happy.
S. Richards: ::Lightly punching his arm:: Go get ‘em tiger. I love this journey for you!
Lyara: Awwww, that’s so cute! You should ask her out.
The bartender set their drinks down, Sam watched as Lyara quickly picked hers up and took a sip of the fruity umbrella thing that had been ordered for her.
Silveira: Look, it’s complicated…
The look Sam gave Sil was a knowing one. Relationships and complications were something she was becoming all too familiar with.
Lyara: It can’t be that complicated. Just ask her out!
Sam smirked at the young Bajoran. Hoping that whatever relationships she would be presented with would always make her feel like it wasn't complicated.
S. Richards: ::Turning to Sil:: Look, I get it. I too have recently found myself in a similar situation. Having feelings for someone and the situation being complicated. I can relate to that so much more than you can even understand.
Silveira: Response
Lyara: At least she's a good friend. So even if things end up becoming too complicated you can keep it real with her. The best thing in any relationship is open communication!
S. Richards: ::Gesturing to Lyara:: The wild one is right. Communication is top tier when you want things to work out.
Tilting her head to the side and smiling, she didn’t expect her lack of drinking to stir up so much in Vitor, but she was glad he found comfort in being able to talk to them about it.
Silveira: Response
Lyara: Besides, let’s have fun tonight! We don’t have to flirt or drink to have a good time. What matters is that we all have each other. ::Pointing to Sil and Sam:: How’s that sound?
Sam gave a simple nod at the two of them, feeling a bit grateful she didn't have to reveal her pregnancy to them right then and there. In a bar. On Andorian pride night. It just didn’t have the right place or time feeling to it.
Silveira: Response
The Bajoran of the group spun around to face the bar. Sam watched with curiosity why Lyara suddenly looked confused.
Lyara: Did you bring us the wrong drink?
Bartender: That “Red headed Bajoran: was ordered by her.
They pointed to the end of the bar where the Andorian who had waved at Lyara earlier sat.
Lyara: Aptly named drink.
The bartender gave a laugh before walking away to their other customers. Lyara turned back to Sam and Sil.
S. Richards: I think that one :: slightly gesturing to the Andorian:: has their eye on you.
Silveira: Response
Lyara: I’m still allowed to flirt and drink right?
A genuine laugh escaped from Sam.
S. Richards: Of course! Get your freak on!
Silveira: Response
Lyara: Response
She moved over closer to the nervous Bajoran and began to lightly push her towards the Andorian.
S. Richards: I’m your wingman tonight. I won’t stand by and not make you at least go dance.
Lyara/Silveira: Response
Sam chuckled before turning back to Sil with a tired smile.
S. Richards: I’ll be honest Sil, this might be the end of the night for me. I am surprisingly tired after all of this excitement. If I head out, you’ll keep an eye on her right?
She was pretty sure Lyara could handle herself just fine, but leaving a friend in a bar just wasn’t something Sam was comfortable with.
Silveira: Response
Lyara: Response?
S. Richards: Thank you for letting us parade you around in that lovely Toga. I do hope I see more of it in the future. ::yawning:: On that note, I am going to go back to Ta- ::catching herself:: my guest quarters and get some sleep. Party on you wild animals.
Silveira: Response
Lyara: Response?
With that, Sam made her way out of the bar. Wishing she had more energy to spend with her new friends, but she had quickly come to learn that growing babies was an exhausting job.
