Boka: I’m the first of her harem of colourful hedonists. I’m Boka and you must be Tamio K’Wara?
As the greeting was finalised, Tamil twirled elaborately and turned to Ava.
K’Wara: Ava, you have a harem, and didn’t think to tell me? I’m hurt. ::winks at Boka:: But yes, that would be me. Ava spreading gossip about me already?
Ava let out a faux sigh of exasperation. Truth was, she was glad her old friend and her new friend were able to get along, as she had suspected they would. Boka, despite all their enthusiastic flare, had struggled much of his life against some of the more prejudiced aspects of his people. From what she had read about Cygnian culture, she could assume that Tamio could relate to some degree.
Boka: Any friend of Ava’s is a friend of mine :: whispers conspiratorially :: Even if I still hate her for getting me kicked out of the Academy.
Ava shook her head and gave Boka a mirthful glance. He was always exaggerating the events that led up to his eventual removal from the Academy.
Munro: :: to K’Wara :: That’s not true.
Ava smiled as she watched Boka playfully wave her off and focus on Tamio. She had missed her old Academy friend more than she realised. It had been several years since their last meeting. Adrian had taken an instant dislike to Boka when he visited, which had made it awkward and uncomfortable the entire time.
K’Wara: Truth or not, there’s a story waiting to be memorialized here.
Boka: Truth is interpretation. Anyway, Starfleet and I mutually agreed in my third year at the Academy that we were completely and irreparably incompatible :: glances at Ava then leans towards K’Wara mischieviously :: I’ll spare you the details. For now.
Before the conversation could go any further she interjected. Boka loved to exaggerate scandal, but the truth was she didn’t want to rehash one of the sadder experiences from the Academy. They had had so much joy in those days - too much, maybe.
Munro: Boka, stop playing around and tell us what we have in store?
Boka shrugged and giggled.
Boka: That’s very much up to you, but I did take the liberty of gathering up a few choices :: looks to Ava :: I know dancing will be the first stop for you :: to K’Wara :: She always wants to dance when she’s heartbroken.
K’Wara: Please tell me she also wants to dance at other times, or I’ll fear I’ve been conned here by a bore!
Ava crossed her arms, indicating her need to dance with a tap of the feet and an exaggerated look towards her wrist. An old human expression that seemed to hang on throughout the centuries. It had a very clear meaning: Hurry Up!
Boka: You will need the cunning of a Boglynx and the ferocity of a Mugaatu to drag her off of the dancefloor once she finds it. She was the terror of the night when we were in the Academy.
Munro: Doesn’t a Boglynx secrete … :: nope :: Boka we will have plenty of time to tell Tamio all the sordid details about my life but I need a drink in my hand within the next minute or I’ll melt into the floor.
Boka: Well, we simply can't have that. ::gestures:: Come right this way.
Tamio sidled up next to Ava as Boka started leading them to one of the numerous floating discs.
K’Wara: So, talk to me of this harem of yours, Ava. Considering my most recent promotion to ‘fun friend’, I hope you’ll be able to tell me what number I get in this exclusive eyecandy ensemble?
Boka: ::clicks his tongue as he wags a finger:: Now now, that depends on your performance tonight. It has a very serious ranking system.
Munro: :: playful :: Anyway, you are all my favourites.
Tamio smirked.
K’Wara: Do not underestimate the lengths I’ll go to for a fancy title. I’m a pilot; we’re practically required to be volatilely superficial and vain.
Flyboys, girls and persons did have a notorious rep. Tamil didn’t really strike her as one of the kind she tended to avoid: overly confident, clique and way too into themselves. Not that her tastes were much better … she just prepared her men to hide their inappropriateness.
Boka: ::escorts Ava and Tamio onto the disc:: You’ve come to the right place then.
The Disc set into motion as the three of them arrived at it, floating with a lackadaisical buoyancy around the monolithic neon spires, the colors from the billboards seemingly refracting through the concave glass surface they were being carried by. Ava leaned closer to the edge of the Disc, she wanted to take in all of it. She noticed in the windows of some of the buildings an entire collection of what was on offer.
Roaring dance parties, stylish celebrations, spas, pool parties, tasteful art gallery exhibitions with some of the finest artists in the galaxy and even a fashion show. Tarahong was definitely the place to be for the trendsetters.
It did make her feel a little out of place but she shrugged it off. Boka had assured her that there was something for everyone.
Boka cleared his throat before holding up two small holographic projectors in either hand, and with a snap of his fingers, the projectors displayed small bubbles showcasing potential first stops.
Boka: Knowing Ava’s appetite for dance, look no further than the soft neon glow of Club Aong-Za; The bass is low, the prices are high, and the atmosphere is electric! They pump pure oxygen and mild pheromones directly into the ventilation system to ensure everyone’s charged for a good time, and if you need a bit of liquid courage, they have a submerged bar area to enjoy a good cocktail while cooling off your feet in the refreshing currents. :: looks to the other projection:: If you’re more in a mood to not hear the sound of the latinum in your pocket - if so, I know a fantastic psychiatrist with only slightly extortionate prices - I also recommend the Polarian, a penthouse crystalscape nightclub, where the only thing that outshines you are the dozens of reflecting crystals holding up the roof. The music is so wanton that they have to replace their entire room full of windows and pay exorbitant public disturbance fees every night, but that’s how you know the party was a good one, mh?
Munro: Let’s start off with the Polarian. We don’t want to peak too early and the Aong-Za sounds like it’s a further into the night kind of place. All good nights start on the roof and end in the basement?
K’Wara: Response
Boka: Perfect the Polarian it is! I’ll take you to your suites, and then I’ll have a shuttle sent over to take you to Polarian.
Munro: Aren’t you coming with us?
Boka: Patience, my beautiful human. Patience :: to Tamio :: It’s always me, me, me with this one. I have a few things to take care of but don’t worry I have an extra special outfit planned for later :: snickers mischieviously :: It will be a lot of fun!
Munro: :: to Tamio :: The last time he said that we ended up in a brig.
The Ferengi grinned widely and raised their eyes and shrugged.

((Short Time Later - Bah’iqet Private Suites - Jubel Fahr Resort, Noizán District, Tarahong))
The suites were as wonderful as she imagine them to be. Crystal chandeliers were mounted in each room, the furnishings beyond exquisite that they almost seemed like works of art rather than functional items they could use. And the feeling that had first begun to bloom on the Disc had only grown, a quiet discontentment.
Everything here was perfect. Every whim they had was catered to or would be within minutes at Boka’s insistence. Yet, even the thought of dancing had begun to lose it lustre. Maybe she was just getting old?
She refused to entertain the idea that Adrian had seeped into her mind. That the feeling of unease was the part of him that had been left behind in her subconscious and was telling her that this wasn’t who she was anymore. The person she was should be stood back on Earth, at a sophisticated functions rubbing shoulders with old admirals telling stories of the Dominion War that were only half true.
When Tamio emerged from their room into the shared lounge area they were bedecked in a splendour of colour and ready for the nights party. Ava hadn’t bothered to change her clothing, choosing to watch the lights of the city that only rotated beautifully before them.
Munro: I can see why people get lost here. I read that some people spend years here on one long holiday.
K’Wara: Response
Munro: Unfortunately we don’t have years, our shuttle awaits.
She raised her hand theatrically and the window opened and a shuttle flew into frame. Ava hopped into the passenger seat. Several drinks rested on small tables that extended outwards.
Munro: Boka does know how to make this girl happy.
K’Wara: Response
Once Tamio was situated comfortably the shuttle’s auto pilot function kicked in and the shuttle spun away from the building and then began to float upwards before pushing between some of the highrises, and through those beautiful lights.
The walls of the shuttle transformed and then shimmered away to become completely transparent, it felt like they were floating above the world. Eventually she could see Polarian. Boka’s description did not do it any justice. The entire upper half of the skyscraper was being supported by spiralling crystals that refracted the lights all around them. The result was a cascade of celestial light that beamed in every direction. Above it, the rooftop was filled with people dancing or mingling. The shuttle dipped slowly towards a discrete landing platform out of sight of the main area for guests.
