The fallout of his brief commanding experience kept pouring down, after Zie's outburst. And it felt like a nuclear winter.
Vitor knew he screwed up the second that the Nascaik captured Jetripar. He just haven't considered the implications of tossing away their cargo, and Starfleet technology being literally available for anyone's pickings.
Vitor's shoulders sank down as he realized where he had also failed.
Silveira: That was another thing I should have considered.
MacKenzie: ::rolling her eyes, muttering sarcastically:: Oh now we should think about it...

Vitor straightened himself.
Silveira: It was like letting the Nascaik take Jetripar.

Vitor eased his posture and shrugged slightly.
Silveira: Well there's a reason why I am just a simple department head.
Imril: Response
Zie closed her eyes and held up her hands.
MacKenzie: Enough. Can I assume that through this conversation, you both have a new perspective through which you might filter future decisions like this?
Vitor already had that even before the meeting. As his mistakes unfold he was already realising that he had to learn more about making command decisions.
Sheepishly he nodded
Silveira: Yes Captain

MacKenzie: I'm so pleased to hear that.
Vitor knew commanding a ship was hard. Hell, being a department head was already difficult. But this mission had proven he wasn’t really ready for being in command.
It had been a lesson in humility. And clear sign that he hadn’t improved that much.
After all the years. After all the mistakes… He still learned too little.
Silveira: Thank you Captain.

Zie leaned forward, folded her hands on her desk, and sides of her lips curled upward in a devious smile that almost made Vitor arch his eyebrow.
MacKenzie: I should certainly hope not, because if this ever happens again, you'll be the one sitting through the tribunal - not me.
Silveira: I… I just want to say one last thing Captain.

Silveira: It has been a… Learning experience. But again I think Lieutenant Imril acted in the best possible way… ::he looked at Zie and nodded, looking down:: And if there is one responsible it's me. I’m sorry to let you down Captain.
