Glim shook his head and turned to the newcomer. He found the Bugman rather irritating, and was thrilled that he was no longer his problem. The Tellarite picked at his tusk with one finger as he spoke to the new head of Ops.
Vel: Nobody wants to hear that, Bugman - I’m Lieutenant Commander Glim Vel, I used to have your job. And I’m overjoyed that it’s yours now.
Vailani: I enjoyed reading your report on the cross-ship integration of supplementary life support systems. It was very helpful :: to Bergmen :: Lieutenant Bergmen has been showing me around. Would you like to join us?
Bergmen: ::whispering:: I would rather not…
The Bugman moved to the side, to better allow his betters to talk.
Vel: That would be fantastic, thank you.
Vailani: Actually he was just about to try and sell me on this idea of FORT. Weren't you, Lieutenant?
The Bugman glanced between Vailani and Vel, then turned his gaze back to Vailani and nodded.
Vailani: I'd appreciate Commander Vel’s insights :: to Vel :: If you don't mind?
Vel: I don’t mind at all, I would be happy to join you.
The junior officer sighed and held out a PADD to the Lieutenant. Glim didn’t bother to cast his eyes over the PADD, having read all the information on FORT repeatedly as the Bugman had sent it over. It was probably just as boring as it was the last time.
Bergmen: All information on FORT, including my project reasoning and notes, are inside this PADD, lieutenant, so you can read it when you have time and call me if you have any questions. It was nice to meet you, and I look forward to working with you in the future. But if you excuse me now, I will return to my work. Thank you.
She nodded in response, before the Bugman immediately turned around and left them. Glim shook his head at the retreating back - he could add rudeness to the man’s increasingly long list of faults.
Vailani: :: raised brow :: Lovers tiff?
Glim let out a bark of a laugh.
Vel: He wishes.
Vailani: In any case, I may be new here and you might've been in my shows a few days ago but he's one of my team and I apologise for his rudeness. I'll chat to him about that. Perhaps if you get his name correct next time he might be more … civil?
Glim fought the urge to scowl, remembering that although he was higher in rank, she was the new head of department. So instead, he responded with a raised, bushy eyebrow.
Vel: What’d you mean? The Bugman knows I know his name!
Vailani: :: awkward :: Bergmen.
Glim blinked a few times - that was what he had said, no? He decided it was best to play along.
Vel: Ahhh, of course. But I’m sure he’ll be bugging you too, soon enough.

Vel: Is there anything I can show you, seeing as you’re here?
