((Southend Beach, Risa))
There is a unique sound when you are swimming underwater.
Interestingly enough it changes, depending on the geography and even on the planet.
Terran beaches were noisy. The sea current makes them noisier. Vitor was likely generalizing, since he mostly knew the Portuguese Atalantic coast.
They were also colder and dangerous.
But don’t think Risa isn’t dangerous as well. The sea is warmer, quieter, and much more pleasing. But Vitor knew, from experience of growing here, that usually that meant sloppiness, and lack of attention.
Regrettably, that caused accidents, even in Risa
He knew very well this sea, and this coast. It was always like coming home.
And he was swimming quietly underwater, just until his lungs allowed.
He raised to the surface and began swimming back to the beach.
Last time he visited it was so different… Now…
How things have moved, changed. They weren’t in the Excalibur anymore. And only four remained from the Resolution, himself included.
They had survived… So many missions after that one. Frontier Day and now…
Now they were finally enjoying Risa as they should.
And for Vitor it was good to be back, and for a moment be selfish and just get a good swim.
His arms were hurting slightly, and he was wrinkled as a prune when he made his way to the reclining chair so he could dry.
And then go for another swim. Vitor never really liked getting tanned, just for the sake of it.
Laying on his belly he closed his eyes, and thought of Nan. For some reason he had a feeling she couldn’t swim. Maybe he was mistaken, but as he thought of his girlfriend a familiar voice called him.
Adea: Vitor!
He raised his head and turned to the side as he saw Genkos coming closer to him.
Silveira: Genkos, good to see you. But how did you end up here?
Adea: Well, I asked the Chief to surprise me - clearly they didn’t change the settings from the last beam down. How’ve you been?
Vitor now fully turned so he could face his senior office and friend.
Silveira: Good, good. How about you? ::Vitor smiled as he noticed Toto running around:: I see you brought company.
Adea: Response
Vitor smiled as he returned his attention to Genkos.
Silveira: I have seen Toto, but we were never properly introduced. ::he looked away at the sea for a second:: Well, it's a lot more pleasant than our last visit. ::he then turned back to face Genkos:: Kali is still with us or has she returned? I was hoping to catch up with her.
Adea: Response
Vitor nodded and smiled. He felt tempted to say something. But he was likely sure that Genkos had caught on something.
Silveira: Oh everything is… Good. Actually it's more than good, it's awesome. I think you can tell I am pretty happy.
Adea: Response
