Alyndra stepped into her quarters, the ambient temperature being a slight degree or two warmer than the adjacent corridor. However, the Lieutenant hung back outside, Alyndra rose an eyebrow. He was respectful, she gave him that, however she hoped it was implied he could come in.

 

Syrex: If you’re a vampire, then I hereby invite you in. 

Alyndra gave a brief curtsey, pulling on the skirt of her skant.

Silveira: I have to say you are very talented in toy making. You will forgive me if I don’t need your other skills, as that would mean I am hurt.

Alyndra sat down at her desk, pulling out a very special-looking PADD. It was several times thicker than a normal PADD, with several slits along the side.

Syrex: Well, as a Paediatrician I see this as my work too, so you don’t need to be hurt at all to use my “Doctor Skills”

 

Alyndra pumped her chair up a few inches, coming closer to a comfortable working position at the desk. Pressing a button on the special PADD, it bleeped a few times, before unfolding itself into a much larger board. Its screen came to life, a melody played. It was alive. 

Silveira: Then, hands to work, what can I do to help?

Alyndra grabbed another PADD that sat on her desk and handed it to Vitor.

Syrex: Quickly sign the NDA please, it’s just saying that you won’t sell your soul to the Ferengi and reveal how the toys are made. After, if you can get an image of Commander Jovenan that I can work off of, I’d be most grateful.

 

Silveira: There you go, all official now. Now let me access our files.

Alyndra received a notification on her own PADD that the NDA had been submitted. Whilst she knew the security reasons behind not revealing the toy-making technology, a part of her still wished to be doing it the old way. Back when she started, she sewed the toys manually; however, after an influx of requests, getting the modelling PADD was both easier and more flexible.

Silveira: OK it’s not the best from her, but this one will do.

 

Alyndra reached out to take the PADD with Jovenans photo on it. Vitor surprised Alyndra by saying it wasn’t her best, she was beautiful. It only made her wonder what the better photos looked like.

Syrex: I’m assuming you want the same style as yours, right?

Silveira: Yes, yes, very much so.

Syrex: Right… Ok.

 

Alyndra flicked at the PADD once again. A holographic 3D lattice of the Silveira doll she’d made for Lyara flickered into the room. The solid green light emanating from the PADD-XL reflected from Alyndra’s face and some of the surrounding walls. It wasn’t just the glow of technology; it was creativity, and she was going to create.

 

Silveira: I will leave the rest in your capable hands. I know you won't disappoint me.

Syrex: ::grinning:: I certainly aim to please.

 

Alyndra manipulated the lattice of the template doll. Long Blonde hair, cute lil’ hairclip. Poofy blue dress…. Bold green eyes. 

 

Although it felt very fast, the whole process of designing the toy based on the template only took around 10 minutes. Pressing a button on the side of her PADD, the lattice shifted into a completely photorealistic hologram.

 

Syrex: How’s that?

 

Alyndra turned down to face him, only to see that his mouth was almost on the floor. His smile was magical, and his eyes were wide. Either he was on drugs, or Vitor was happy with what she’d made.

Silveira: That’s… That’s perfect. I love it. I will be forever grateful Doc Rex.

Syrex: I’m glad. I just hope she appreciates it as well as you do. Oh, and I have another thing to show you.

 

Alyndra tapped on her PADD, the image of a small sock appeared.

 

Syrex:  This is an accessory for your Sil, doll.  See the Jovenan doll has a magnet in the hands. If you put this over your doll’s hand, they’ll hold hands. I figured that might be quite cute too!

Silveira: It’s so cute…

 

Syrex: I’m glad you think so!

 

Silveira: Response

 

Alyndra folded her PADD away, taking a small isolinear chip from a slot on its side. She got up from her workstation, moving towards the replicator unit.

 

Inserting the chip into the perfectly shaped slot, a new interface appeared over the usual LCARS interface. Soon, a blue shimmering light overcame the room, as the replicator materialised three boxes. One was quite large, however the other two were very small.

 

Syrex: Here you go! All wrapped and ready!

 

Silveira: Response

 

Syrex: Yeah, so the big one is the Jovenan doll. One of the small one’s is the glove you need for the Sil Doll, and this one…

 

Alyndra lifted the lid from the small box, revealing it’s contents.

 

Syrex: Is a tiny lil’ Luxa Lorana. Since you said you missed her and I had a toy of her already on file, ya know?

 

Silveira: Response

 

Syrex: No, really that’s not necessary. ::smiling:: just please let me know what she thinks of it. Oh, and invite me to the wedding ::winks::
