((CloQ’s Realm))
CloQ ignored the human and his nonsense, and instead stepped towards the Betazoid. Their torture had been particularly exquisite.
CloQ: You. I want to know. What was it like, for you, seeing mummy again?
Dakora: Yes. ::He scowled.:: Resurrecting my dead mother just so I can lose her in a new and exciting way was truly a feat befitting a being of your… abilities.
Jovenan: ::quietly:: Monster.
CloQ turned and inclined their head towards the Edo. Finally, they were getting a rise out of them.
Silveira: Response
Dakora: You said you had plans for us– why bother with them? Let them go and keep me. You’ve really only scratched the surface of my traumatic moments. ::He jabbed a finger toward himself.:: Then you can move on to all of my painfully obvious insecurities…
The Edo turned to face the brave Betazoid, whilst CloQ let out a loud, harsh laugh that seemed almost amplified by the space they were all occupying.
CloQ: Are you volunteering?
Jovenan: Talos, don’t…
Silveira: Response
Sadar: B-But I still don’t understand. Why the fascination with childhood traumas?
CloQ turned towards the anxious little Mizarian and smiled at her, showing a mouth that seemed to have ever so slightly more teeth than a normal human’s might. They snapped their fingers in triumph next to their head and pointed at her.
CloQ: Finally, the right question!
Silveira: Response
Dakora: What is this? What do you want from us?
CloQ: I want to play a little game. ::they paused:: Another little game.
Dakora: And if we refuse?
CloQ looked the Betazoid up and down for a moment.
CloQ: Do I need to spell it out for you?
Silveira/Sadar: Response
Jovenan: But why are you continuing this? We played this game already, we – we fixed the history, the Romulans are in the war again. Y-your timeline doesn’t exist anymore!
CloQ let out another fierce little laugh and languidly waved a hand so that the two playing boards came between them all.
CloQ: Currently your friends are stuck in a timeline that… ::they paused as they pointed at both the Mizarian and the Edo:: you two created with your little assassination. And I will keep them there forever unless you can beat me. ::They pressed their clockbadge and images flashed in all around them, a brief history of the changed timeline, the little girl growing up to be a fierce empress and a leader of the galaxy:: And it’s not a very nice timeline, I tell you that much.
Dakora/Silveira/Sadar: Response
Jovenan: ::to Sadar, quietly, teary:: Sorry.
CloQ looked at the Edo with a frowny face, almost mockingly so.
CloQ: Oh why so glum? You didn’t have a choice, did you? I created this world, I forced your hands, there was nothing else you could do, was there? You had to kill that senator, didn’t you?
Jovenan/Dakora/Silveira/Sadar: Response
CloQ: At least, that’s what you want me to say. The truth is that Betazoid doctor of yours has all the imagination of a Ferengi tube grub, and about half as charming. There were any number of things that you could have done that wasn’t murder an innocent man… But ::they raised a slender finger:: if you can figure out what really happened in your timeline, I will reset this.
They waved their hands and suddenly the room shifted, and they were in a small Starfleet office. The window outside showed a wormhole opening and closing, and on the desk was a single baseball. There were also a selection of PADDs. CloQ grinned at them and gestured languidly to them.
Jovenan/Dakora/Silveira/Sadar: Response
