Lieutenant Vailani Zoyara - Moving Forward

((Outside the Captain's Ready Room - Deck 1 - USS Artemis))

There was a human expression that Zoyara had heard at the academy, ‘sometimes you need to take a step back to move forward’ and those words rung true as she stood outside of the Captain's Ready Room of the USS Artemis. 

It's where she began her Starfleet career and now she was to be the Chief Operations Officer. The Prophets may be looking down on her favourably. 

Which made a significant difference from what they usually put her through. After sending her through time zones and universes, not to mention the hazy recollection of a life that was never lived, she was due some good grace. 

She took a breath, and pushed her blonde hair behind her ears as she hit the chime on the door. 

Several seconds later, she heard the captain beckon her in. Addison MacKenzie; the legendary force herself. 

MacKenzie: Response

The doors whirred open and Zoyara stepped inside. She instinctively straightened her back and knitted both hands together in front of her, as she took a position at the desk. It was as if the years had melted away and she was a freshly graduated ensign all over again. 

Vailani: Captain, it's good to see you outside of a Borg cube. 

MacKenzie: Response

Vailani: I'm eager to get started. I reviewed the most recent mission reports en route here from the Alpha Isles so I'm just about up to speed. 

MacKenzie: Responses
