((CMO’s Office - Primary Sickbay, Deck 7, USS Artemis-A))
Genkos replicated a pot of a Ferengi root tea, something that was meant to be quite sweet but with just a bite of bitterness. A diminutive engineer had recommended it to him once, although he couldn’t remember the man’s name…
Anyway, he set it down in front of them both and left it to brew for a moment. He saw with a mote of pleasure that Gila had picked up one of the biscuits he kept in a tin on his desk.
Adea: So, Gila, how are things?
Nodding obediently, Gila turned to the PADD to complete her report. Genkos leaned back in his chair, feeling relief in his calf as he took the weight off it.
Sadar: The work is progressing as intended. The radiation profile for the Meirashi people has been uploaded to Starfleet Medical’s databases, and logged in the species encounter logs for any future dealings Starfleet might have with them once their society progresses to the necessary thresholds. The residual radiation from the nebula has also been completely scrubbed from the Artemis’ internal systems.
Genkos nodded, he expected that it would take quite a few hundred, if not thousand, years until the Meirashi were First Contactable - or rather Second Contactable now they’d met the Artemis’ crew. He leaned forward, lacing his hands together across the top of his desk.
Adea: Good, and I imagine our supplies of hyronalyn and other radiation medications are running low?
Sadar: Yes Sir. The intent is to have our medical stores completely restocked by the time we set out again, but DS224 is similarly low at the moment, so it might be a while. I would recommend we refrain from radiation diving until such a time as our replicator rations have recovered.
Genkos pursed his lips in a subtle show of amusement.
Adea: I hadn’t been planning on it, Lieutenant. But how are things with you?
Gila cleared her throat slightly, clearly slightly uncomfortable with the personal tone the conversation was taking. However, Genkos was both her boss and her friend - it was how Starfleet often worked.
Sadar: No, uhh... Th-Things are... Good? I-I’ve almost finished moving into our new family quarters, and Kolya’s taking the chance to acquire furnishings for his room while we’re on DS224.
A knowing nod from the doctor, and he started to pour the tea for them both. He used it as an excuse to not make eye contact with the Mizarian, which he suspected might put her more at ease.
Adea: Ah, and you’re slightly concerned about what he’s going to come back with?
Sadar: Response
Adea: ::chuckling:: Well if you need to retreat somewhere, you’re more than welcome to hide out here. How is it going, having him around?
Sadar: Response

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
