Lt. Silveira: The Renirs Effect.

Vitor was still wondering if he wasn't overstepping. But in his usual way, and considering they didn't have a proper Security Chief, he took upon himself to call Ensign Tho’Bi. 

Of those that fought on the bridge he was, apparently, the one that might need a little more training. Cole was already in Security so being battle ready was part of her duty. 

Gnai had seen more than enough fighting. 

Frontier Day had challenged him deeply.

He might be a little biased about Nan, but he would likely ask someone else to train her.

They were still having trouble with keeping ship boarders away. Vitor wanted to assure everyone was able to defend themselves. 

He had taken his uniform top off, leaving the undershirt, rolled up the sleeves and had stretched a little before the Ensign arrived. 

When the Andorian Engineer entered Vitor smiled. 

Tho'Bi: ::stands to attention and salutes:: Ensign Tho’Bi reporting as ordered, Lieutenant. 

Silveira: At ease Ensign. 

He let the Ensign relax. Although from his looks he felt anything but relaxed. 

Silveira: Do you know why I called you?

Tho'Bi: ::quiet deliberate:: No Sir, I do not.

Vitor kept his smile but raised an eyebrow. 

Silveira: What was your grade in Combat and Small Weapons, Ensign? 

He looked confused, and slightly puzzled.

beneath his initial reaction of confusion. 

Tho'Bi: ::confused:: My Academy Gr-Grade for… Combat and Small Weapons? ::glances at his feet:: …a B, Sir.

Vitor couldn't resist provoking the Ensign a little. It actually wasn’t a bad grade for an engineer. Truth be told he expected Tho'Bi to have some worse.

Silveira: Only a B? I was expecting a little better from an Andorian. 

Tho’Bi: ::slow uneven:: Yes, I am Andorian, but I am also an Engineer… I just want to fix things, Sir.

Vitor grinned. It looked like Tho'Bi took the bait. Vitor didn't consider himself an Andorian specialist, but he had a lot of personal experience with them. He knew a little of their culture, language, and society. 

Silveira: You can't fix anything if someone is trying to break your arms. Or worse. 

Tho'Bi: Response

Ensign Tho’Bi reply sparked even more Vitor's curiosity.

But there was another reason for him to call on the Andorian Engineer. 

Silveira: I called you to be sure you can defend yourself. You may want to just fix things, but if you haven't realized that you don't always get what you want, maybe it's time to learn. Besides, the Artemis Engineering department has to keep up with the Renirs Effect. Because of that I have selected you to a brief sparing match. ::he gestured to floor.:: I have everything ready. 

Tho'Bi: Response 

Vitor tipped his head. He was pushing, and Tho'Bi reaction was tempting him to push further. 

Silveira: No excuses Ensign. Crewman Renirs used a hyperspanner to defend herself and stop an invading party. In defending yourself you're defending your comrades.
