((Administrative Building, Ki Baratan, Romulus))
He had to admit, Gila holding a lifeless version of his own face was a little disconcerting. But then it wasn’t quite his face - for a start the last time he checked, he wasn’t a Romulan. Although, as he caught his reflection in the window, that had clearly changed albeit intentionally.
Adea: We make it look like the turret was hijacked by the Dominion, then the Romulans might take the bait. Right, let’s get moving. I want to get this done - there’s a bottle of sapphire wine I’ve been saving.
Jovenan: Right. ::to Sadar and Gnai:: Uh, try to look like you’re, um, subservient to me and the Commander. The Romulans have these hierarchies, and I think they’d expect the Romulans ::points at herself and Adea:: to lead. S-sorry.
Genkos pursed his lips - she was the second highest ranking officer in the group, so it made sense that she would be second in charge… still, clearly she wasn’t used to the whole leadership thing.
Gnai: Aye, sir.
Sadar: Y-Yes Sir?
With that, the group lined up - the Romulans in front and the Mizarian and her robot behind them. Ascending to the correct floor, Genkos and Jovenan led their way to a shielded door. He still held his cane, but tried to make it look like an affectation / disciplinary thing.
Jovenan: ::whispering:: This is it. Are we ready? How do we do this?
Adea: We charge in, act like we belong.
Sadar: Y-Yes Sir...
The two ‘Romulans’ led their group towards the doors and the security checkpoint by it, walking with purpose to dissuade any possible confusion as to their presence there. When Jovenan spoke it was with impressive command in her voice.
Jovenan: Step aside, soldiers. We are here to conduct maintenance on the turret. Command’s orders.
The Romulan guards didn’t seem to immediately question that order - which was positive - but instead turned the full brunt of their attention on their companions.
Romulan Uhlat: What is that fehill'curak supposed to be? ::at Gnai:: Or that?
Gnai: ::messing with the speakers of its suit to produce robotic beeps and boops:: Beep. Beeeeep beep.
Sadar: E-E-Eyla Thevn, Sirs… I-I’ve been given leave to demonstrate the efficiency of the latest series of maintenance robots to-
Genkos gave Gila a harsh stare, in character of course.
Adea: Quiet, fool!
Gila fell silent, and Genkos turned back to the Uhlat.
Romulan Uhlat: H'treain aren't allowed past this security point. This one ::pointing to Sadar:: can stay behind as you work.
Sadar: I-I really must insist, Sirs! According to the Tenet of Commerce, “The obligation of the peddler is to present his wares with integrity”, and-
Adea: I said, quiet fool! ::he turned to the Uhlat:: This ryakna is with me.
Jovenan: Response
Romulan Uhlat: You're testing our patience. If Command has authorised you and the alien to work past this point, we didn't hear it.
Genkos stamped his cane against the ground, attempting to bluster and aggrandise his way through the conversation.
Adea: And do you hear everything from Command, veruul?
Jovenan: Response
Sadar: But, surely-
Romulan Newscaster: ::muffled by the windows:: -ttle on approach to Romulus, and discussions are expected to take a turn. We’ve yet to receive news on our guests from the Dom-
Genkos spoke up, and looked at the Uhlat with an imperious eye, drawn up to his full height.
Adea: Listen here, if you think I am going to put up with your hnaev then you have another thing coming, officer.
Jovenan/Gnai: Response
Sadar: W-Well, i-if it’s truly impossible, then perhaps I can instruct you on the robot’s use and various protocols? ::fumbles with her anxiety band:: It will have to be comprehensive, as I haven’t actually had opportunity to observe the machinery that it interacts with, but I’m certain that, if assisted, the repairs could be completed in a couple of hours. Of course, we won’t meet the projected window, but-
Romulan Uhlat: Enough!
The Uhlat stepped to one side, clearly fed up of their nonsense and their “hnaev” a word which here means something I’m not allowed to write down in one of these posts. Look it up on the wiki.
Adea: Thank you.
Sadar/Jovenan/Gnai: Response
The quarter stepped through the open doorway and found themselves in the turret. Genkos let out a sigh of relief once the door was closed and turned to his team.
Adea: Okay, that went better than expected. Sadar, I want you and Gnai to start setting up the scene for our Dominion entrapment, whilst Jovenan and I work on getting the turret to fire at our target. Also probably best if we barricade the door somehow.
Sadar/Jovenan/Gnai: Response
