(( Rooftop Gazebo - Ana Kersna, Rylor )) ((( OOC: May this serve as a warning to you all. 1) I take wiki updates very seriously. 2) I take Teal Medical extremely seriously. )))
Virtavi-Yaros: ::clears throat:: "Honored guests, pray excuse my excitement, but seeing you all here for our inaugural Starflirt soirée is a satisfaction I can hardly disguise. It is my very great honor to-” Ah, no, much too formal... I do not intend to intimidate the Flirters!
Nadevia sighed at her self-admonishment, before she smiled as she looked around the venue. The entire rooftop she now stood on was fashioned as a gazebo of sorts, open to the Rylorian sky, silver and pale gold stars shimmering as the sun slowly drifted below the horizon visible past the ocean. The coastal town of Ana Kersna was the first proper ‘wellness town’ that had been established after the Rylor Colony chose to market itself as a vacation spot, and the skyline of the quaint city with its wide streets, white buildings and addiction to roof gardens was a vision.
The rooftop that Nadevia had settled upon to host the event was decorated with crystalline sculptures, glass rosette vines snaking up large marble columns, luminous lights draped over the criss-crossing pattern of supporting beams that stretched below the curved class roof above, and casting a soft radiance over the numerous tables set up below.
K’Wara: You’ve outdone yourself, Nadevia.
Nadevia turned about, her arms spread in a welcome gesture to the Cygnian Lieutenant who now ascended the stairs leading onto the roof itself. They were impeccably dressed, as ever, their sideswept hair long and emerald green, and their body clad in a dress suit ensemble that seemed to reflect the errant rays of sunlight that passed through the venue itself.
Virtavi-Yaros: Tamio! ::soft hug:: What an exquisite delight to see you again. ::knowing look:: Your warming presence has been sorely missed.
The meaning of the Kantare woman’s words filled the space between them, but Tamio dismissed them with a slight shrug, the silver fabric of their shoulders glimmering with the movement. Today was not a day for bad memories. Today was a day for making merry, as Tamio had certainly dressed for, and they intended to give absolutely zero thought to Starfleet, Callis I or the mountain of PADDwork waiting for them in their office.
K’Wara: Am I early?
Virtavi-Yaros: ::nodding:: Indeed you are. The soiree shall not start for another half hour, but far be it for me to chastise the practice of punctuality! ::spreads arms to indicate the venue:: As a reward, you may have your pick of the seating arrangements.
K’Wara: Why, aren’t I just the luckiest. ::gently touches Nadevia’s arm:: I should take advantage of that, immediately.
Nadevia saw them off with an amused look in her dark eyes, as Tamio headed for the table with the most aesthetic view of the cityscape beyond the terrace railing. They’d participated in a few events such as these over the years, but they never ceased to be amazed by the dedication Nadevia offered to decorating. They had never had the chance to visit Kantare before, but they imagined - from how Nadevia acted - that extravagance was just part of the game for their society. They could vividly picture Nadevia attending galas or large social gatherings in a place like this, and it was no doubt those experiences that inspired her when hosting these events.
Soon, the other participants started arriving, and Nadevia assumed her hosting duties with flair as she greeted every single officer who ascended the stairs, some with the confidence of someone who’d attended these networking events numerous times, and some with the uncertain vulnerability of those who’d never attended one before, and had no idea why they were there.
Once all had been seated, with Tamio having received their first conversation partner for the evening, Nadevia stepped onto a small raised platform to address the crowd.
Virtavi-Yaros: Welcome, one and all. My heart is quite full to see such a glittering assembly - both dear friends of long standing and those whom it is our new privilege to know - as we mark the start of another Galactic Year amongst the stars. To those venturing into our company for the first time, I beg you to set your minds at ease; there is no cause for trepidation. Simply find a pleasant companion, partake of the refreshments, and should the chime sound, you need only await the arrival of a new acquaintance. ::smiles graciously:: I wish you a most enjoyable evening.
A polite applause started as Nadevia left the platform, and Tamio smirked slightly at the man sitting opposite them, and they leaned forward slightly, resting their chin in their hand, an errant emerald curl falling into their forehead.
K’Wara: Vitor Silveira, I presume? ::eyes outfit:: You dress up nicely. Teal is a nice color for you.
Silveira: Response
K’Wara: I’ve heard much, most of it quite interesting. ::smiles:: Let me guess; you forgot to alter the details on your profile after you and Jovenan got together?
Silveira: Response
K’Wara: Yes, Miss Virtavi-Yaros can be quite... Persuasive. oO And persistent Oo ::chuckles:: Well, no need to fret about it. It’s just polite conversation, after all, and frankly, it was high time we chatted.
Silveira: Response
